A True Child of God Help Others
Don’t even consider yourself a good child of God if you find it hard to love other people. God requires his children to love others. We must love, care, and help people to demonstrate the truth of Jesus Christ that resides in us.
Nothing is lost when we care and help others. The acts of kindness will only add good virtues to our lives.
God loves people that help others. The Creator will favor those who make him proud by helping others.
At what point should a person decide to help others?
Some people are actually uncertain of the time they have to step out of their comfort zone to help others. Some imagine they don’t need to get involved in other people’s affairs until asked. While it is reasonable to be cautious in dealing with people, one can’t take that as an excuse not to help those in need.
Nobody is all-sufficient. We will all need help at one point or the other. So, consider there is someone somewhere who would need what you can easily offer without a sense of loss.
Let’s learn from the Bible to have a good understanding of this topic.
A man called Nehemiah in the Bible stepped out of his comfort zone to help the people in need. He cared to rally support from a distant land to help his country fellows who were suffering.
Nehemiah heard some sad news about his people. He was sad to hear the uncomfortable situations of the people. He lost his appetite and shelved personal enjoyment. Nehemiah began to pray and fast for God’s intervention. He asked God to intervene and guide him. The Bible reported;
“…. Hanani, one of my brethren, came with men from Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.” So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven” (Nehemiah 1:2-4).
God responded to Nehemiah’s request and granted him special grace that made a gentile king support the idea that he (Nehemiah) should return home to help his people and rebuild his homeland.
God Always Honor The Kind-Hearted – That Help Others
People who are kind and graceful towards others will have their faces beautified with wonderful rewards. Although they may have their brief moment of hardship on earth, but they will ultimately prevail. Jehovah will lift up kindhearted people so that they can be encouraged in their good works.
A person of charitable heart will enjoy God’s benefits in this life and the one to come. Their succeeding generations will also reap good rewards for their labor! No good thing will be found wanting for a person whose heart is fully committed to God, and fully represent Jesus Christ in the lives of others. God will honor them always.
As Christians, showing love should be our major duty, and what better way to show love than being kind? God rewards people with a kind heart always. Always be kind to people, you never know who you have saved in the process.
Pray For A Kind Heart To Help Others
Dear God, please give me a heart that cares and help other people. Let me be part of someone else’s solution. Enable me with grace to make positive contributions to other people’s lives. Let me be a problem solver and not a problem contributor! Enable me with grace to be your true ambassador on earth, so that your name can be praised in the land of the living. (Please address my own personal problems also so that I can have more reasons to serve you). For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
