Relationship

daily devotion

Daily devotion has some benefits which may not be instantly glaring but have long time benefits. Daily devotion exercise has a long-time benefit, of course, this depends on how persistent a person engage in it!

Keep reading to learn how the exercise of constantly reading the word of God can benefit your life.

Some Benefits of Daily Bible Devotions

Here are some benefits to derive when you engage in daily devotions.

  • You will experience spiritual growth

Have you dreamed of a better relationship with God, wait no longer, just try to engage in a consistent daily bible study and watch your spiritual fire ignited!

To have a good result of any devotional, you have to be consistent. Don’t just engage in a Bible devotion exercise whenever you feel like doing it. Do it as routine!

Perform the task of studying the word of God consistently to have a good result for your soul!

To solidify your blessing with a devotion exercise, add prayer to it. Pray after each bible study and ask the Lord to help you practice what you have learned.

Some people enjoy reading a certain part of the Bible while they abandon others. This practice may not be a bad effort – after all, the word of God was read. However, the fact remains that the practice of focusing on one part of the Bible at the expense of other sections signifies the reader will not have a comprehensive knowledge of the word of God.

The practice of focusing on a certain part of the Bible at the expense of other sections also limits the blessings of the reader.

The need to read every aspect of the Bible for comprehensive knowledge and blessing can’t be overemphasized!

If you really want to grow in your daily walk with God, read every part of the Bible thoroughly! Your daily devotion and other Bible study exercise must include those portions you have considered as “unexciting.”

Read every part of the Bible

Yes, Bible is the word of God, and it is infallible. No doubt that some parts of the Bible create an (immediate) impact than others. For example, reading some books and chapters may sound like a family tree countdown. Other books and chapters may speak straight talk to the heart.

Encourage yourself when you come across those “unexciting” parts of the Bible, and read them. (You don’t get to come across those often. When you do, never skip, keep reading.)

Don’t flip to the next chapter when you feel bored about a section of the Bible. Try to read through until you have gotten to the part that excites you.

Come to think of it, no part of the Bible has lesser significance. The fact that you don’t feel anything emotionally does not mean something positive is not happening to your spiritual life. Also, note that the cumulative effect of reading every section of the Bible is what will eventually aggregate to your spiritual growth and maturity.

  • We Understand God Better with Daily Devotion Exercise

Daily exercise in the word of God connects us with God. The more we read about God, the better our understanding of him will be.

Remember: the better you understand God, the bigger your blessing will become!

Daily Devotion – A Means of Relating With God

  • Your Interraction God Becomes More Real – with Daily Devotion

Humans made in the image of God have enjoyed a mutual relationship with him in the past, but have since lost the privilege in the Garden of Eden. (Satan manipulated Adam and Eve to sin against God; thereby, lost the relationship.) The same relationship which can be regained through Jesus Christ has to be maintained through a constant interaction of bible study and prayers.

The enemy is still in the business of manipulating people to disobey God; therefore, we must consistently read the word of God and pray!

Without a consistent touch with the Bible study, a child of God can forget the laws of his Master. It is important to keep ourselves refreshed in the devotional exercise.

David stated,

Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You!” Psalm 119:11 (NKJV).

Someone who studies his bible is technically creating an impression that he loves God and is willing to follow his rules.

Bible study exercise simplifies the technicality process of knowing the mind of God and complying with his demands.

Through our devotion to the word of God, we are able to raise a question about any part of the Bible that is unclear. We can seek an answer and have spiritual growth.

Also, through Bible devotion exercise, a child of God can candidly make a pray request that touches the heart of God.
