Everyone Must Be In Compliance With God’s Laws
Passage: 2 Kings 23
All people are required to obey God’s laws. Humans find this simple commandment challenging; therefore, they rationalize and look for every opportunity to evade it. Meanwhile, everyone knows that God would never ask us to do whatever is impossible. He won’t ask us to do what we are not capable of doing. God who asks us to comply with his commandment of obedience also knows we can do it. His grace is ever available for us to always meet his expectations.
God has endowed his grace on humans to have the capability of accomplishing whatever we have set out hearts to do. That is, we can meet the standard of God if we choose to do so. Some people have chosen to meet God’s expectations, and they had God’s blessings to reap for their efforts.
Let’s delve into the Bible and learn from someone who chose to disrupt the routine disobedient acts of his time. He was defiant to the sinful practices of his time and complied with God’s laws.
King Josiah in the Bible is our case study. He was a small boy and chose to do what any adult of his time wouldn’t attempt. He shunned idol worship and other disobedient activities.
Josiah was just eight years old when he became the king of Judah. He succeeded some evil kings who care less about the laws of God. Josiah stood his ground to make his people faithfully serve God and obey his commandments.
Josiah ensured the desire to faithfully serve God was a matter of national priority. In his efforts to achieve this goal, he ordered the priests to educate the citizens on God’s laws.
Josiah’s efforts paid off as he was able to successfully win the heart of his people for God. The Bible described his exploits,
“The king sent them to gather all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem to him. The king went up to the house of the Lord with all the men of Judah, and with him all the inhabitants of Jerusalem—the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the house of the Lord. The king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant” (2 Kings 23:1-3).
Obedience Means Everything to God, and He Rewards It
God rewards obedience. In fact, it could be said that a person who intends to receive the blessing of God should dare to obey his commandments. That is, people who keep the laws of God have automatically positioned themselves to receive the blessings of God.
It takes a conscious effort to obey God and faithfully serve him! To make this happen, we must study our Bible to understand what God requires.
(The Bible, which is the word of God is affordable, and can be easily possessed by everyone).
In addition, anyone who intends to fully obey God must give room for the leadership of the Holy Spirit in his life. Why? Holy Spirit empowers us to faithfully serve God. The Spirit of God gives the appropriate insight that we need to have a divine interpretation of the word of God. In short, Holy Spirit gives us everything we need to fully obey God.
It must be resonating that no one can manipulate God when the subject of obedience is discussed. A person cannot claim to obey God while he is acting otherwise. God cannot be deceived; he will appropriately reward everyone based on their sincerity.
God Searches Our Hearts and Knows Our Thoughts
God who knows all things will evaluate everyone’s activities and adequately reward us. Someone who indulges in sin should not expect to be positively rewarded. Also, the rebels – those who willingly go against the laws of God, and those who reject the salvation offer of his Son Jesus Christ will not have a portion in God’s kingdom. Unfortunately, their disobedient acts will qualify them for eternal damnation of hell fire.
People who obey God and faithfully serve him will reap the reward of their efforts in this life and in heaven. That is, God will bless his obedient children with some indescribable blessings in this life and next life.
One of the greatest ways to serve God is “obedience.” You may not realize this, but your obedience is considered as an act of true worship to God. 🙏👏🎖🎻Click to tweet
The Bible tells us that God has a good plan for his children who obey him (Jeremiah 29:11). Be soundly assured that your obedience will yield you a positive outcome. 💪👏👂🎁Click to tweet
