Evil May Reign In This World, But God Cares For The Steadfast!
(Passage: Philippians 3; Luke 23)
Temptations are bound to come your way as a child of God, but you must always remember that your steadfastness in God worths more than a million!
Satan is an enemy of righteousness; he will attempt to derail anyone who has determined to serve God. This enemy (Satan), who is bound for God’s punishment in hell, is always willing to take as many people as possible to his final destination (hellfire).
You and I don’t want to follow Satan to hell, so we must ensure to safeguard our salvation obtained in Jesus Christ carefully.
The enemy of God’s people has a history of manipulating anyone willing to give him attention. The bad guy will throw any stone he finds with the hope that one will stick. But, you have the willpower to make a choice not to become Satan’s victim.
Christians can be gravitated in faith and overcome Satan’s manipulation by learning from Jesus Christ. Satan tried everything he knew to make Jesus stumble and fail his mission, but the Son of God did not budge.
Believers must set their eyes on the mark of a higher calling. Just as the Scripture states,
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12-14)
At the heat of his persecution, Satan prompted Pilate to present Jesus with an option to turn back from his life-saving mission.
No Rock Of Offense, Jesus Is Lord!
The fate of saving humanity through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus’ life played out, but for the record, Pilate, who presided over his case, found nothing incriminating or deserving of death. He found the opponents’ arguments against Jesus unsubstantiated. But, Pilate still went ahead to satisfy the wish of the enemies.
Pilate engaged the chief priests and said,
“You have brought this Man to me, as one who misleads the people. And indeed, having examined Him in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him; no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him” (Luke 23:14-15).
Our Faith In God Should Be Steadfast Always
Know what you stand for as a Christian! As a child of God, you must be steadfast in God. You must not be afraid of Satan.
Children of God – Nothing should make us retreat from our commitments to God; we are required to remain steadfast and keep our faith to the end.
Christians must always remember that Christ has promised to earn us victory over all circumstances of life (John 16:33).
Pray To Be Steadfast In God
Dear Jesus Christ, please, I want to be a steadfast Christian! Help me to have a strong faith that put the devil on the run. Please give me the grace and strength to resist any temptation of the enemy. Let your Holy Spirit guide and lead me in all my ways so that I can remain your true child in every day of my life. Anoint me with your grace and prosper my life endeavors. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
