UNHOLY RICHES ARE THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL – Luke

riches

True Christians Should Avoid Unholy Means To Becoming Wealthy

(Passage: Luke 16)

Jesus Christ cautioned and warned his disciples not to be involved in unjust riches, but seek pure wealth that glorify God. Jesus said,

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (Luke 16:10-13).

riches

Unholy Pursuit Of Wealth Goes Against God’s Will

The pursuit of clean riches is not evil, but the pursuit of unclean riches is evil. Hence, Christians must not pursue riches at the expense of holiness. As children of God, we must evaluate our ambitions, and we must ensure that God’s rules are not violated. We must also, strive to be involved in only careers that glorify God. It is important to note that God keeps records of our activities, and he will duly reward us in this life, and in heaven also.

Don’t be a hypocrite!

O my God, I want to be rich, but I do not want to go to hell fire! Help me pursue clean riches, and let me honor you with my resources. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

GOD RESPECTS AN AGREEMENT – Judges

promise

True Believers Must Be Aware Of Their Promises

(Passage: Judges 11)

Judge Jephthah found himself between a rock and a hard place by making an irrevocable vow to God. He promised to offer an important sacrifice to God if he could help him overcome his enemies. Jephthah said,

“Whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord’s, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering” (Judges 11:31).

God answered Jephthah’s prayer, but lo and behold, it was her only child who came to welcome him to his door-post when he returned from the battle. He found himself in a situation that he had to give up her only daughter. (Please note: This type of sacrifice is no more relevant today!). The scripture reported,

“When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, there was his daughter, coming out to meet him with timbrels and dancing; and she was his only child. Besides her, he had neither son nor daughter. And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he tore his clothes, and said, “Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low! You are among those who trouble me! For I have given my word of the Lord, and I cannot go back on it.” So she said to him, “My father, if you have given your word to the Lord, do to me according to what has gone out of your mouth, because the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the people of Ammon” (Judges 11:34-36).

Jephthah decided to honor his promise despite the magnitude.

Be Watchful; God Cannot Be Cheated

God deserves to be respected at all times. We must respect him, and we must keep our promises to him. Meanwhile, believers must understand that we cannot be rash in our promises to God. We must be careful not to make ambiguous promises when we are in the presence of God. We must weigh our words and consider their magnitudes – since God does not respect jokes! He will not hesitate to register our promises and ask for their fulfillment.

God will keep asking us for his rights (promise) until we fulfill them. Therefore, believers must be careful not to make empty promises to God.

God will bless anyone who duly fulfills his promises to him. He will ensure the person is blessed so that he or she can be motivated to keep the practice of honoring his/her promises.

Prayer For Grace To Fulfill All Promises

Dear God, please help me respect you through my words and actions. Let me fulfill my promises to you. Let the fulfillment of my promises open doors of opportunities in my life, and let me enjoy your goodness in the land of the living. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

TRUSTING GOD PAYS – Judges

trusting god

True Christians Should Focus On Carrying Out God’s Plans

(Passage: Judges 20)

Trusting God pays off in the end. The tribe of Benjamin rebelled against the remaining eleven tribes of Israel, and they instigated the civil war. The eleven tribes who remained united asked God for a strategy to use against their rebel brothers, and he gave them some specific instructions. Meanwhile, the Israelites lost the battle, because they failed to closely follow their God-given strategy; however, they were not discouraged but trusted God. The people did not stop asking God for directions. On their third attempt, after duly following God’s order, the united Israelites conquered Benjamin’s tribe. They conquered their leaders, and they brought the whole tribe to its knees. The scripture reported how the Israelites eventually conquered the revolting Benjamin Tribe. It is reported;

“But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven. And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them. Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them. Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising. And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men… So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour…” (Judges 20:40-46 KJV).

Following God’s Instructions Would Lead You To Victories

Trusting God has enormous benefits.

God still leads people today; he leads his children to take appropriate steps that will benefit their lives. However, things may sometimes go contrary to God’s plans when we do not follow his instructions to the letter. Notwithstanding, we should not be discouraged when we do not get the expected results, rather we should summon the courage to understand God’s instructions well, and adherently follow them.

Christians must not hesitate to consult God over and over again until we have our expected solutions. Our heavenly Father will definitely respond to our cries. He will answer our prayers and guide us into victories.

Prayer For Grace To Follow God’s Instruction

Dear God, please teach me how to duly follow your instructions, so that I can have my expected victories over life situations. When you lead, let me follow; and when I follow, let me prosper. Let me have victory today, tomorrow, and throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

SPIRITUALITY ENTAILS FOCUSING ON THE RIGHT THINGS – Psalm

righteous

True Christians Must Focus On Only What Glorifies God

(Passage: Psalm 73)

A psalmist almost collapsed in despair when he saw how wicked people prospered effortlessly. He confessed,

“But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong” (Psalm 73:2-4).

However, the reality of life was dawned on the psalmist when God showed him what the end of wicked people would be. He stated,

“When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin. How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors! They are like a dream when one awakes; when you arise, Lord, you will despise them as fantasies” (Psalm 73:16-20).

The Righteous Will Always Be Rewarded Eternally

Children of God should focus their energy on receiving blessings from God, and not on being envious of wicked people. Wicked people may prosper today, but their prosperity remains temporal. However, the prosperity of righteous people will last a lifetime, and they will also be available in heaven. In addition, the prosperity of righteous people will be transferable from one generation to another; the descendants of righteous people will not suffer! Therefore, everyone who chooses to serve God should aim for righteous riches that have no bitter ending.

Prayer For The Grace To Prioritize Wisely

Dear God, please give me the grace to pursue righteous riches that will last a lifetime. Give me the grace to follow your righteous path, and not envy the wicked people. Help my services be acceptable before you, and let me receive your blessings in this present life, and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

ISRAELITES REBELLED AND GOD SOLD THEM OUT – Jeremiah

God's grace

Christians Must Not Take God’s Grace For Granted

(Jeremiah 25)

God’s grace has a limit! God declared his judgments on the people of Judah and Israel for abusing the privilege he earned them. The people of Judah and Israel took God for granted and persisted in their sins despite his warnings. God reminded the rebels of their failures and pronounced his punishment on them. God said,

“‘Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever. Do not go after other gods to serve them and worship them, and do not provoke me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not harm you.’ Yet you have not listened to me,” says the Lord, “that you might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Because you have not heard My words, behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ says the Lord, ‘and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations” (Jeremiah 25:5-9).

grace lesson

God’s Grace Has A Limit

God is merciful, but his mercy has a limit. Anyone who aims at taking God for granted may be playing a risky game since God cannot be predicted. Jehovah can decide to take an action when a person has least expected; therefore, it is better to appropriately behave before him.

Everyone has the choice to establish a consistent relationship with God and enjoy his benefits.

A person who makes the choice to build a steady relationship with God won’t regret it. Such person will be automatically positioned to earn God’s unlimited benefits.

A person who thinks he can play a dirty trick on God by offering him a lip service and keep a secret sin will regret in the end. Sooner or later, God will catch up with the person and severe him with some punishments. Besides, God has designated a special day to judge all the hypocrites and haul them to hellfire. Anyone who dilly dally in faith should not hesitate to repent and repair his or her relationship with God.

GOD’S WRATH SHALL COME UPON SINNERS DESERVING – Ezekiel

sin

True Christians need to deviate from sin to bask in God’s Glory

(PASSAGE: Ezekiel 20)

For the longest time, the Israelites continued to live in sin despite God’s punishments inflicted on them in the foreign lands. They provoked God by partaking in idol worships, disobedience, and several other vices. God was not too pleased and promised to adequately compensate his disobedient children. According to the bible;

‘‘As I live’’ says the Lord God, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead my case with you face to face. Just as I pleaded my case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead my case with you,”. He goes on to say, “I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 20:33-38).

repent

God Is Omnipresent And Omnipotent

God is smarter than all human beings, and we cannot manipulate him to achieve our goals. Also, there are no alternatives to holiness; we cannot stand on the fence to please God. If anyone claims to love God, he or she must abandon sinful practices, and faithfully serve God. As humans, we must not forget that acts of manipulations may work with men, but they cannot work with God. Therefore, we must all be honest with God in all interactions with him.

No substitute for sin.

Pray To God For The Grace To Worship Wholeheartedly

Dear God, please help me not to play dirty tricks with you. Help me to be factual in my interactions with you. Give me the grace to humble myself and apologize for my sins. Help me to exercise true repentance so that I can prosper on earth and in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

GOD PLACED ISRAELITES ON CONDITIONAL FREEDOM – Leviticus

idol worship

Christians Must Fully Obey God To Have His Full Blessing

Passage: Leviticus 26

Israelites were free from the Egyptians’ bondage but their freedom had terms and conditions. God who delivered the Israelites from their Egyptians’ oppression placed then under a strict term that they must comply with his laws to continue enjoying the benefit of their freedom. Jehovah emphasized that the people must fully desist from idolatry.

God reiterated to the people of Israel that their deliverance would be a thing of the past if they serve an idol. God stated,

“You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 26:1).

God promised to bless Israelites his people if they serve him with full devotion and desist from any form of idol worship. God stated as quoted,

“If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm my covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. I will set my tabernacle among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be my people” (Leviticus 26:3-12).

Jehovah also reiterated, through Moses, the impending judgment that would befall the Israelites should they engage in idolatry. He stated,

“And after all these, if you do not obey me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit” (Leviticus 26:18-20).

A Christian Must Not Serve An Idol

Any Christian who wants to prosper on earth and also qualify for heaven must not engage in an idol worship. An idol worshiper will not have his or her name written in God’s book of life! God is the only supreme deity that is worthy of our worship. All people must submit to his feet and reverence him with sincere worship.

God is Jehovah; he does not want anyone to equate him with an idol. He does not want anyone to share the glory due to his name with an idol. The Creator will do everything necessary to protect the integrity of his name!

Jehovah requires complete obedience from his children so that he can bless them. Children of God must understand that God cannot be deceived. He knows all things; he knows a person that faithfully serves him, and he knows who does not.

Christians must abide by the laws of God to obtain God’s benefits. Each believer must understand that God has his yardstick of punishment for every sinner unless repentance is exercised! God will not relent until he has properly corrected any of his children that engage in idolatry. It is therefore important that every child of God stays away from idol worship. Every believer must give God an undivided attention and serve him wholeheartedly.

Pray For Grace To Abide By God’s Rule

Dear God, please plant your fear in my heart and help me to serve you wholeheartedly. Empower me by the Holy Spirit to meet your holiness standard! Please guide my thoughts and actions so that I can live a pure life before you! Give me the ability to repent from my sin whenever I make a mistake. Help me to exercise a genuine repentance so that you can be happy with me! Please Help me to be conscious of your laws and empower me to meet your holiness expectation so that I can remain worthy of your eternal kingdom! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. SATAN WILL IMPOSE ANTICHRIST SIGN OF 666 – Revelation

antichrist

Christians Must Be Vigilant of Antichrist Signs

Satan will impose his evil sign of antichrist on earth inhabitants on the last day. Most people will receive the sign but some will escape it. People who understand the meaning of the antichrist sign will refuse to accept it, thereby have the opportunity to save their souls from the pit of hellfire. The bible stated the number that will symbolize the antichrist destructive exploit as number Six hundred and Sixty Six (or simply noted as 666).

Anyone who refuses to receive the sign of the antichrist 666 will have the name of God to praise in the end since he or she will have the opportunity to gain an access to the kingdom of God. Those who steer clear of the antichrist symbol would be regarded as the martyrs since they may have endured pain and possibly shed their blood as they refute Satanic agents who plant the signs.

The scripture described people who escape the antichrist sign of 666 as champions. The Bible states,

“Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before you, for your judgments have been manifested” (Revelation 15:1-4).

kingdom

People Who Refuse Antichrist Sign Will Make Heaven

Persecution of saints will rise during the period of the end time. Satan and his forces will manipulate people to receive his evil mark of the 666 to signify their qualification for eternal damnation of hell. People who have proper knowledge of the bible and are also sensitive to the evil sign would have an opportunity to reject it. Whoever receives 666 – The mark of the antichrist will miss an opportunity to qualify for the kingdom of God. It is therefore important that Christians be vigilant to safeguard their souls. Each believer must read his or her Bible to understand the significance of the antichrist mark. Christians must also be vigilant and be prayerful to remain fit for God’s kingdom.

Believers in Christ ought not to be afraid of the evil sign of Satan intending to qualify people for hellfire. Since Christians have confessed their faith in Jesus Christ, they have an upper hand over Satan! Christians will experience rapture and be transported to heaven prior to the period that Satan will have an opportunity to enforce everyone to receive his mark of destruction.

Jesus Christ will provide a formidable way of escape for his followers prior to the period of tribulation that Satan will force people to receive his sign. All people ought to align their faith with Jesus Christ since he is the sure way of escape from the forthcoming terrible situation that people will experience. Everyone ought to seriously consider Christ’s salvation and earn the opportunity to qualify for heaven. (Unfortunately, whoever refuses to declare Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior will not qualify for the rapture. The person will miss a pleasant opportunity of inheriting the kingdom of God.)

The sure way to receive the salvation of Jesus Christ is as stated in Romans 10:9-10, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

God's kingdom

Prayer to Escape Sign 666

Dear God, please save me from the evil sign of the antichrist that Satan will impose on people to waste their souls in hellfire! Please count me worthy of your eternal kingdom. I clearly understand that Jesus Christ provides a sure way of salvation for everyone; whoever confess him as Lord will be saved. Therefore, I confess Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I give my complete life to Jesus Christ and I promise to keep serving him for the rest of my life. Please keep me fit for your eternal kingdom! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. JEREMIAH LAMENTED FOR ISRAELITES’ SINS – Lamentation

sin

Sin Irritates God; Holiness Is The Key

Passage: Lamentations 1

Prophet Jeremiah was depressed and cried for Israelites having witnessed the terrible consequences they have suffered as a result of their sins committed against God. Israelites who once enjoyed God’s full benefits have become impoverished. They lived in poverty, and many of them have become captive slaves in a foreign land. Jeremiah lamented,

“How lonely sits the city that was full of people! How like a widow is she, who was great among the nations! The princess among the provinces has become a slave! She weeps bitterly in the night, her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers she has none to comfort her. All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they have become her enemies.Judah has gone into captivity, under affliction and hard servitude; She dwells among the nations, she finds no rest; all her persecutors overtake her in dire straits” (Lamentation 1:1-3).

Sin Separate People from God

Sin destroys any good relationship that exists between God and his children. A person that intends to enjoy his (or her) relationship with God must desist from sin. Since God is not partial, he cannot pardon his child for a sin that he would punish an unbeliever for. The Creator will award his measurable punishment for everyone – Whether he/she is a child of God or not. Meanwhile, it is impossible to predict how God will punish a sinner, but in most cases, his punishment beats human’s imaginations. Better to be safe than sorry, someone who professes to love God should serve him in holiness to enjoy his benefits.

Divine blessing of God will follow a person that obeys his laws. The person will prosper in whatever he does. A new door of opportunity will open for him, and whatever he does shall lead to success. Also, a person who obeys the laws of God will have peace of mind and have enough strength to stay happy during adversity. God will ultimately help him to prevail in all situations.

Prayer to Live in Holiness

Dear God, I understand that you require your children to stay away from sin and serve you in holiness. I am very sorry for my past sins, and I repent of them. I ask that you please forgive my sins so that I can befit your blessings. Let the Holy Spirit empower me to faithfully serve you. Give me the ability to daily meditate in your word. Please bless me as I strive to live in holiness before you! Give me every reason to testify to your goodness in the land of the living! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

A WOMAN WHO MOCKED DAVID REGRETTED HER ACTION – 2 Samuel

People To Honor God At All Times

(Passage: 2 Samuel 6)

A woman who mocked King David for dancing in the presence of God lived the rest of her life to regret her action. Michal, David’s wife, despised her husband when he danced before the Ark of God’s covenant. Michal scolded her husband for publicly dancing before God. To Michal, her speech was appropriate since David was her husband; however, God considered it as an insult hauled against his integrity! Therefore, Michal was barren for the rest of her life. The scripture reported Michal’s speech to David,

“…How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” (2 Samuel 6:20).

Bible further reported,

“So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.” Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death” (2 Samuel 6:21-23 KJV).

Learn to Honor God and Respect His Servants

Honor God. God deserves to be respected by all people. God’s servants also deserve to be honored. Believers must be careful not to relate with God anyhow. We must not allow familiarity to cause us to sin against God. The fact that Jehovah remains loving and compassionate towards us does not mean that we can take him for granted! No Christian should think that he or she can second-guess God’s action if he or she abuses God’s grace. God cannot be second-guessed. His anger may erupt and it may surpass any human imagination.

Instead of testing God’s patience, believers have an obligation to faithfully serve him. We must respect God and faithfully serve him to receive his benefits (and avoid his wrath). The Creator will bless whoever makes him proud of his or her godly character.

Prayer For Grace to Honor God

Dear God, please give me the ability to faithfully serve you and honor you in whatever I do! Do not let me abuse your grace by taking you for granted. Also, do not let me dishonored your servants. Please guide my behaviors to always satisfy you so that I can receive your benefits in this life and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.  => Subscribe here.
