Christians Must Show The Love Of God To Others
Passage: 1 John 5
God demonstrated the kind of unconditional love that He wants us to have and demonstrate towards others. He showed us this by releasing His only Son to die for our sin. No other love can be greater than this – That a father would allow His only son to die for some strangers. This kind of love is selfless!
A person who claims to love God must share the same attribute (the love of God) and express it towards his fellow human beings.
Also, someone who loves God must obey God with an expression of faith in His Son Jesus Christ. The scriptures states,
“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments” (1 John 5:1-2).
Genuine Love of God comes via the Fullness Of Holy Spirit
God desires that his children love him with all their hearts and might. We must express our unconditional love for him always. However, despite the need to express our genuine love for God and other people, we retain some human limitations that could inhibit our efforts.
Believers can be tempted to act in the flesh and violate God’s call to love him and other fellows. To overcome this challenge, Christians must be full of the Holy Spirit at all times. We must be prayerful and study the Bible on a consistent basis.
The call to have a genuine love of God may seem like a hard task for mortal men (and women), but God’s power is enough to help anyone live above his limitations. A person would be less selfish and less biased when he allows the Holy Spirit to rule him.
Christians need the supernatural power of God (Holy Spirit) to overcome our limitations. The divine Spirit of God will energize us to live above sin, and also, empower us to love God as well as our fellow human beings.
Pray To Have The Required Love of God
Dear God, please baptize me with your Holy Spirit to exercise true and genuine love for you and other people. Let your Holy Spirit empower me to live an acceptable life before you so that I can qualify for your blessing on earth and in heaven. Please let my life glorify you always! For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
Remember: You Are Required To Express The Love of God
