Dare To Know What Jesus’ Death Stands For
(Passage: Luke 24)
Jesus Christ explained the necessity of his suffering, death, and resurrection. He said,
“Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
… And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:46-49).
The death of Jesus was meant to open a pathway for sinners to receive the forgiveness of their sins to qualify for heaven.
Indeed, everyone is a sinner and in need of the salvation of Christ, as the Bible described,
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but through Jesus Christ, whom God as an atoning sacrifice, we are saved from wrath. He also wants us to walk in love, as he has loved us and given himself for us” (Romans 3:23)
Jesus’ Death Is Beneficial To All Everyone Who Believes
Jesus Christ died for sinners on the cross, and it was a “mission accomplished!” Christ unveiled the symbolic meaning of his death and resurrection to all people. His rare mission was meant to save the lost sinners and reinstate them into a goodly relationship with their Maker (God).
Christians Have A Stake In The Salvation Process of Others
Jesus Christ asked his disciples to ensure to spread the good news of his resurrection to the world (starting from their local community). Christians must preach the gospel to unbelievers so that they too can be saved (Luke 24:46-49.
A Christian should not agitate, neither should he be scared of preaching the gospel. We have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in us, which empowers us to preach the fearless gospel throughout the world!
Although Christ suffered to perfect the work of salvation, he has made it freely available for all people. The Holy Spirit is free for us to benefit also. The Spirit of God will also empower us for effective gospel evangelization.
Anyone who hears the gospel and confesses his faith in Jesus Christ will be saved.
