Importance of Evangelism

As Christians, we are required to preach the gospel of Jesus always. God’s plan is for us all to have a chance at salvation. It is written;

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” (2 Timothy 4:1-4 KJV).

Christ’s call for us is to be His witnesses, and evangelism is one way in which we can fulfill this. The Bible says,

“But you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me in all Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8 KJV).

In biblical categories, witnessing involves making sure those things that are invisible are made visible.

The fact that we bear witness is the invisible kingdom of God, and we strive to make the Lord’s reign and kingdom manifest in witnessing Him.

There are so many ways we can witness Christ, and one of them is through loving our fellow believers. By doing this, we show the world that we belong to the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ.

“A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you  have love one another.” (John 13: 34-35 KJV)

Evangelism Means Everything To Jesus Christ

Evangelism is one of the ways that Jesus commanded for His disciples and all believers; it’s so clear and does not have each element of uncertainty, yet a few Christians still don’t get it.

It’s either that they get it and are essentially determined and careless; just would not comply with this commandment. It’s viewed as the most dismissed; yet Christians are happy with going to Church, tuning in to great messages, participate in the studies of scriptures and feel better.

They overlook or disregard the most significant commandment: discipleship and evangelising. Jesus came to this world to show us who His father is.

Jesus was clearly a great soul winner (and Saviour), the consummate Evangelist. Likewise, we that are Christians by placing faith in Christ are called to uncover the Father (God), in Christ Jesus.

At the point when Jesus sent out the seventy to witness God’s goodness and great deeds, He didn’t go with them; however, he charged them to go in His might.

Today, Christians have the Spirit of Christ in them. Jesus Christ likewise guaranteed us that He’s there with us in every case even to the end of time. We have the Spirit of Christ in us, His enablement and His authority.

We are better prepared for the assignment of evangelising and witnessing God’s grace and genuine love.

Again we who have become believers were once in sin; we were redeemed by Christ for us to live and testify God’s love and goodness.

Christ commands to go into the world and preach the gospel, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost.

Nobody is more qualified than born again Christians to share their encounters of God’s redeeming quality and His grace with those who want to know God.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV).

You may be thinking that since you are battling with certain drawbacks in your life, you feel dejected; maybe you feel you are not competent enough to speak to represent God. That could be what your subconscious mind is letting you know, but that is not how God sees you or what His word says about you.

Each person is experiencing something or some issue; it could vary in size and gravity. These are the things that challenge our spiritual life and keep us renewing our minds and seeking the righteousness of God.

They keep us changing, renewing and improving; always attempting to overcome our shortcomings and getting more grounded in our faith journey.

It also justifies God’s words that all have sinned and come short of His glory.

Evangelism Leads To Rescue From Sin

King David asked If God should count our unrighteousness, who can stand? That is the reason we go to church,  to be always renewed by the spirit of Christ.

However, despite knowing our shortcomings, God still chose us to be His witness and proclaim His love for every living being.

If God was looking for those that are perfect, perhaps he may not find any. But He’s looking for those that will accept His righteousness in their lives. God’s decision is far above our shortcomings.

Afterall Christ died for us while we were yet sinners.

All Christians are called to evangelise, to preach the good news of Christ.

It doesn’t matter what your past or position is, size each chance to talk about the goodness and love of God.

The Gospel must be preached in all parts of the world, to everyone, so the Good News will reach each home, each family and each individual on the earth.
