The teaching of Rapture Must be taken Seriously
Passage: 2 Peter 3
Some people that presumed themselves to be intellectual have challenged the theory of end time and rapture. The critics questioned the Christian belief that Jesus Christ – the Son of God – will return to earth to rapture his followers to heaven. The critics’ arguments are mostly focused on the goal to cast a shadow of illusion on this important subject – rapture. Meanwhile, the critics’ efforts would be proven futile on the last day when Jesus Christ appears in the sky to transport his saints to his kingdom!
Bible warned Christians to stay away from the skeptics since their opposition is heretic and incur dire consequences. Bible warned, “Beloved, I now write to you…that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
…But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up….” (2 Peter 3:1-9).
Rapture will come, Prepare for it.
The teachings of end time must be deemed important by all Christians; they must also prepare to meet the rapture. Teachings of end time remind believers that Jesus Christ will soon return to the earth to rapture his saints to heaven. Jesus has described many signs that would precede his second coming, many of which are listed in Matthew 24. Believers throughout the world ought to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
It is important that Christians avoid any conversation that rejects the factual teaching of the end time. Christians must uphold the value that this earth is not our permanent home. Jesus Christ will soon return to earth to rapture us (his saints) to heaven. Christians who are alive and Christians who have died will befit rapture. Meanwhile, anyone who has yet to confess Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior should do so without hesitation since rapture can happen at any time!
Anyone who has not confessed Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior should do so without hesitation. Jesus Christ will come when people have least expected as the Bible states, “… With the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8). Anyone who misses rapture will face Satan’s tribulation and be hurled to hellfire. (Revelation 21:8.)
Pray for Grace to Meet Rapture
Dear God, I strongly believe that Jesus Christ will someday return to earth to rapture his followers to heaven. I want to be raptured also; therefore, I confess my faith in Jesus Christ. I declare him as my personal Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins and I promise to keep faithfully serving God for the rest of my life. Please enlist me with people that will make it to your kingdom. Let the Holy Spirit teach and guide me to remain fit for your kingdom! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my request. Amen.
