Christians To Have Unconditional Love For God
(Passage: Habakkuk 3)
The type of relationship that Christians keep with God must be unconditional.
We are not required to serve God for the purpose of what we intend to get from him, but we must absolutely serve God because he is our Creator.
He is God and there should not be anyone or anything to replace his position in our hearts.
Christians’ declaration of faith in God must be similar to what Prophet Habakkuk stated in the scripture.
He said,
“Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills” (Habakkuk 3:17-19 NKJV).
Unconditional Love For God Leads to Blessing
Anyone may have become a Christian for any reason; however, once we have become a Christian, we have an obligation to serve God with unconditional love.
Christians must serve God with an unconditional love to appease him and to receive his benefits. Of course, we will always have an expectation from God, and we must not hesitate to ask him for what we want.
However, we must not become obsessed with our needs and place him on the condition that we can only serve him after he has blessed us.
Christians must serve God faithfully irrespective of what we expect from him, and whether he has met our needs or not.
No doubt that the Creator will meet all our needs! He will fulfill all his plans on us so that we can praise his name.
Prayer To Demonstrate Unconditional Love for God
Dear God, please help me to serve you with faithfulness. Help me to serve you with unconditional love so that you can be happy and bless me. I know that you can meet all my needs; therefore, I ask you to please give me the strength to remain loyal to you with my honest services!
…Let my heartfelt love bring you glory and lead to my testimony. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
