God Is Worthy Of Our Praises; Say Thanks To Him!
Passage: 1 Chronicles 17
Every wise father wants his children to learn how to be thankful for all the gifts he has given them. This is the same as our God. As followers of Christ, we are not just called to be thankful for the good things God has sent our way, but also for what He’s going to do and for who He is. King David recognized this in his life and became thankful. The scriptures reported,
“Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and he said: “Who am I, Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And as if this were not enough in your sight, my God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You, Lord God, have looked at me as though I were the most exalted of men” (1 Chronicles 17:16-17).
God Blesses His Children Who Thank Him
As Christians, we ought to thank God for His benefits in our lives. We should consider God’s blessings as a privilege, and not as our right. On many occasions, our imperfections disqualify us from receiving blessings, but God still keeps to his word and blesses us anyway! Therefore, we ought to be thankful for every bit of blessing that we receive, irrespective of its magnitude. We must remain thankful to God who has blessed us liberally without any reservation. No doubt, Jehovah will definitely bless grateful and humble people. He will bless those who are truly grateful for his benefits in their lives.
Proclaim your Thanks To God
Dear God, how wonderful of a Father you are! You love me deeply, and you have shown me your loving-kindness. The list of your goodness in my life is endless! You forgave my sins and made me your son/daughter. You feed me when I was hungry; you healed me when I was sick, and you lifted me up when I was down! How can I forget your goodness in my life? I will never forget, but I will be grateful always! Please let your songs of praises ever be in my mouth. For in the name of your only Son Jesus Christ, I’ve brought you my thanksgiving offering. Amen.
Remember to offer thanks to God always!
