God’s Mercy Remains For A Repentant Sinner
(Passage: Ezekiel 36)
The mercy of God is precious and ever available for every sinner. Anyone who repents of his sin will obtain the mercy of God and receive his forgiveness. Beware, Satan can sway anyone to assume that his (or her) sin is too big to forgive, but nothing of such with God!
Our heavenly Father will forgive anyone who confesses his sin and repent from it.
Is there any saint out there? Indeed, no human righteousness is suitable enough to satisfy God; we all have to take the step of repentance.
However, the fact that no human can boast of any self-righteousness before God must not be taken as an excuse to validate an evil practice. No sinner should rejoice in his sin.
Every sin is punishable; therefore, it is important that everyone comes to a point that he or she repents and asks for forgiveness.
The scripture states,
“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to clean us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us (1 John 1:8-10).”
God Offers No Substitute: Repentance Of Sin Must Be Exercised!
The lesson about the necessity of repentance can be learned from the Israelites (God’s children in the Bible). They upset God with sin and were clueless of how to exercise genuine repentance; therefore, the Creator promised to help them come clean of it.
God promised to teach his people how to exercise genuine repentance so that they can be forgiven.
God’s Holiness Standard Remains
Children of God must come clean of their mess. God said to them:
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will keep my judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will deliver you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations” (Ezekiel 36:26-30).
Good News For Sinners
God is holy, and he will not permit a situation that will make the unbelievers mock his name. Therefore, Jehovah, who is the supreme God can help us overcome our imperfections. He can help anyone who is trapped in a sinful lifestyle escape from it.
God gives strength to the weak; he can empower us to measure up to his standard of holiness.
Caution About Sin
Jehovah is ever willing to forgive any sin. BUT not interested in anyone who takes him for granted!
God may forgive sin and still allows its consequence to linger. In other words, God does not want anyone to live in sin and take the liberty of asking for repentance, while he continues to enjoy the act.
Don’t live in sin and ask for God’s grace to abide! God’s rod of correction rests on a persistent sinner.
No child of God should attempt to gamble his relationship with God. We must not underestimate his power.
Pray For The Grace To Overcome Sin and Stand Upright With God
Dear God, I understand you are an upright God who demands that his children also to live uprightly. I also understand that you are a loving and forgiving God. You don’t want people to take you for granted, but faithfully serve you; therefore, I ask that you give me the grace to be upright with you!
Please, God, help me to serve you well so that I can qualify for your blessings. Help me to walk well before you and be holy so that I can prosper every day of my life.
For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
