Christians Must Be Watchful and Avoid Worldly Cares
Passage: 1 John 3
Christians must remain focused and faithfully serve God. We must always remember that though we live in the same world with unbelievers, we do not share a common final destination. Christians are meant to permanently live with God in heaven, but unbelievers are unqualified for heaven. Therefore, the objective of every Christian is to make efforts on a daily basis to walk righteously before God to remain fit for Heaven.
The scripture reminds Christians about heaven and stated,
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 John 3:1-3).
Righteousness is the key to Heaven
Heaven is a permanent home for Christians. The earth only serves as a temporary home; therefore, as Christians, we must not allow worldly influences to make us lose our opportunity of making heaven. Believers must cautiously walk their pilgrimage (which are basically our earthly activities). We must abstain from sinful activities that would corrupt our holiness standard set by God to qualify us for his kingdom.
Pray For God’s Gracious Assistance
Dear God, please help me to live a holy life before you on earth so that I can qualify for your kingdom. Please do not let me be carried away with the sinful and earthly influences that can corrupt my soul. Help me to always remember that this earth is a temporal home! Let me always remember that heaven is my permanent home! Please keep my feet firm before you until the last day, so that I can eternally rejoice in your presence in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
