Christians Must Have Integrity To Honor God
(Passage: Titus 1)
Church leaders are expected to be people of integrity who lead others by example. Paul in his letter to Titus (and as the same principle applied to other Christian leaders) explained the qualities that every Christian leader must have. Paul wrote,
An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it” (Titus 1:6-9 NIV).
Christians Have Obligation to Lead by Examples
Christian leaders have the obligation to be moral and lead people by example. Religious leaders must be people of integrity. They must have the characters that are good enough to emulate other people to faithfully serve God. Since the fact remains that church leaders are appointed to represent God in their services, they must be careful not to act in any fashion that can mislead and/or negatively influence their congregations.
Any activity that a religion leader performs ought to motivate people to love and serve God. Meanwhile, the congregants of the local churches also have the obligation to support their leaders as well. Church members ought to help ease the burden of their spiritual leaders by providing them any needed support they may need, which are inclusive of both the physical and spiritual assistance.
Members of local churches ought to pray for their leaders to properly operate under the guidance of the Holy Spirit so that they can prosper in their services and bring glory to God.
Pray for yourself and pray for your spiritual leaders.
Pray for Church Leaders
Dear God, please make me an agent of positive change in my local assembly. Enable me with the strength to be an active church member and give me the ability to support my leaders. Help me to pray for my church leaders and offer them any support they might need.
I seize this opportunity to pray for my church leaders. Please grant them the courage to properly serve you so that they can prosper for your kingdom. Please empower all church leaders throughout the world to operate under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to adequately serve in your honor. Help your servants throughout the world to be faithful in their services. Give them the ability to be effective in their leadership activities and prosper for your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my request. Amen.
