Use Bible Study For Your Benefits

(Passage: Nehemiah 8)

Humans are quick to seeking for any shortcut to success, but the real secret to life achievements is reserved in the Bible. Anyone who aspires success must make Bible study his daily habit.

The word of God gives good guidance and can help anyone succeed. We can understand the benefits derived from a diligent Bible study by examining the lives of Nehemiah in the Bible.

Nehemiah and his fellows were exile Jews forcefully taken from their homeland to a faraway country. They were far from the temple but were not far from the word of God.

The people meditated in the word of God until they could understand the plans of God for their lives. They got the ideas that would lead to their deliverance.

Nehemiah and his fellows were able to obtain guidance from the scripture and eventually able to return to Jerusalem (from Babylon) and rebuild its wall.

Nehemiah and his people focused on researching the scripture to understand the mind of God, and they got what they wanted. It was later reported,

“… Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month. Then he read from it in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law” (Nehemiah 8:2-3).

Bible Study Is Meant For Our Benefits

Read your Bible to get exposed to God’s mind!

We read the scripture to understanding the requirement of God, and at the same time gain the momentum to comply with them.

Among many other benefits to receive in studying the word of God, a student of the Bible will learn how to repent of his sin and live a holy and acceptable life for his Maker.

It may sound difficult to understand but the fact remains that the studying of the word of God will lead anyone into having lasting peace, success, joy, and prosperity. (The genuine version of those benefits can only be found in studying the word of God – The Bible.)

Every child of God should consider it his (or her) top priority to meticulously study his (or her) Bible to live victoriously.

Pray For The Strength To Study Your Bible

Dear God, please teach me how to engage in a thorough Bible daily, so that I can be wise and prosper. Teach me how to apply biblical knowledge to my daily activities so that I can prosper in all my ways. Most importantly, let the knowledge of your word keep me fit to inherit your eternal kingdom. Please do these things and many more. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

THE CONDITION FOR FORGIVENESS

Jesus The Mystery Man – Episode 8

forgiveness

In our previous post on “Jesus The Mystery Man,” we discussed how Jesus taught his disciples how to pray. While the lesson shouldn’t be applied as a vain repetition, every Christian supposed to consider it as a guide and source of motivation for forming their how own prayer pattern.

Readers also learned in the previous episode that one of the requirements of getting God to answer our prayers is by forgiving other people. Yes, this important statement has become the topic of discussion in this episode – Forgiveness!

Join us as we examine “Forgiveness” in the eighth chapter of the book Who Was Jesus, Really? – Book One.

Do you think you’re perfect? I won’t imagine that. Are you looking for a perfect person, you’re likely not going to find one either! No one is hundred percent righteous. We’ve wronged God, and we have wronged each other.

If you dare to check, you will find out you have wronged God more than once or times in the past. In the same train of thought, you have likely wronged your fellow human being; someone else must have wronged you too. So, forgiveness plays a vital role in solving the problem.

How can we handle the subject of forgiveness? To properly handle this, let’s consider the question that Peter asked his Master Jesus.

Peter, the most outspoken disciple, asked Jesus:  “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” (Matthew 18:21).

Jesus shocked Peter (and other disciples) with his response, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:22).

Of course, we know it is not possible for someone to offend a friend (or an enemy) for 490 times – That’s just a long time for any individual to repeat the same offense to his neighbor!

Jesus was telling his disciples, including you and me, to forgive those who have offended us no matter how frequent it is or how painful it is.

Why would someone forgive others?

Jesus Christ gave an answer to that. He taught us in the Lord’s Prayer,

“(God please) Forgive us our debts (offenses) as we forgive others of their debts (offenses).

Again, Jesus taught his disciples, “If you want God, whom you sin against often, to forgive your sins, then think about it – You must forgive your brother or sister who has offended you.

Jesus made the topic of forgiveness so easy for us to understand. He clarified that prayer alone is not enough to earn anyone forgiveness, you must also forgive others if you want God to forgive your offenses to him.

The book Who Was Jesus, Really – Book One? is indeed an invaluable book with many treasures of truth to understand about Jesus Christ. While chapter eight of book one that we discussed here is the last part, the next episode will unveil the beginning of series two – Who Was Jesus, Really – Book Two.

GOD HELPS HIS DEVOTED CHILDREN – Revelation

devoted

You’re on God’s priority list if you’re devoted to him

(Passage: Revelation 10)

People who are committed to God have a better chance of enjoying his rare benefits. God will benefit those who are kin in their relationship with him. To make this simple, consider your relationship with God is similar to the relationship that you keep with your family member. You are likely to get more in the relationship as you invest time and resources into it.

Even the Christians (Those who have confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior) should understand that they still have to devote more effort in relationship with their Maker.

God reveals deep things to those who are closer to him (than to those who relate from a distance).

The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenantPsalm 25:14.

John, the disciple of Jesus Christ received some first-hand information from God that are later recorded in the (Bible) Book of Revelation. (Imagine the people of our time would have lost the privilege of having the Book of Revelation as our guide if John had not devoted his life to God).

John recounted his revelation of a powerful angel of God, who will have power over land and sea. As a part of the end-time events, the mysterious angel would cause the earth’s inhabitants to shudder in fear.

John stated;

“I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices” (Revelation 10:1-3).

Be devoted and enlist yourself with those who are special to God.

God Gives Revelation To Devoted Christians

Dare to be committed to God and watch what happens afterward! God will compensate you!

A child of God who is devoted to God will enjoy some rare benefits that are not available to others.

God’s treasured secrets are not revealed to everyone; they are only revealed to choice-people who are devoted to him.

To devote to God is to have a personal relationship with God.

  • When was the last time you had a personal prayer session with God?
  • When was the last time you gave something you considered as special to God?
  • When was the last time you went out of your way to work for God?

As you can imagine, we don’t use a mere statement to prove how much we are devoted to God, we use our actions to prove it.

Devoted Christians have a better advantage

To summarize the benefits that befit committed Christians:

  • Those devoted individuals will know the deep things of God’s kingdom- They will have access to rare revelations
  • They will be well prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ- Since they are more sensitive to the things of God
  • They will have SPECIAL favor- They will get some undeserved benefits because they are God’s apple eyes

Do you agree that you will be a better child if you are devoted to God? If yes, begin to repair and improve your relationship with God immediately. (May God help you to do so!)

Pray For Grace To Be Devoted To God

Dear God, I desire to have a devoted relationship with you; please help me to achieve this goal. Please count me worthy to know the deep things of your kingdom. Let my consistent relationship with you turn around to become my blessing. Please let it be well with me every day of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.
