JUDGE NOT, SO YOU WON’T BE JUDGED – Job

judge

Be Careful How You Pass Your Judgment on Others

(Passage: Job 1)

Children of God must remember that we are warned not to pass judgment on other people. Christ said, “Judge not so that you won’t be judged, for in the same ways you judge others, you will be judged.”

To better understand this lesson, let’s learn from how Job’s friends behaved when he was in trouble. They rained judgment on him during his trial.

Elihu, Job’s friend, called him a sinner and argued he wouldn’t have been in his bad situation without some wrongdoings. In short,  Elihu accused Job that he had committed some secret sins which may have lead to his trouble.

Elihu had claimed,

“What man is like Job, Who drinks scorn like water, Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men? For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight in God” (Job 34:7-9).

(Elihu who judged Job wrong was wrong because Job’s trial had nothing to do with his sin – Read Job 1:6-12).

Avoid Judging Others of Wrongdoing When You’re Not Sure

Human beings are prone to passing a quick judgment based on what they hear or how they perceive others. This practice is bad; Christians must not take part in it. We are warned to mind our business; if involved, we are to research issues to establish facts prior to making a concluding statement.

Again, as children of God, we must avoid making an irrational statement based on feelings and casual assessment.

It is honorable to tame our tongues and stay quiet when we don’t have the complete knowledge of a matter. After confirming the fact that surrounds any situation, children of God are still asked not to judge others (Matthew 7:1-6).

Segregation Is Forbidden For Christians

Christians must not segregate others. A good child of God will not stereotype people based on their race, gender, culture, background, or other reasons.

More importantly, a good child of God must be sensitive to meet the needs of others.

You cannot call yourself a child of God and heap the coal of fire on other people’s injuries.

God will bless us if we represent him well by caring for others. He will bless us as we demonstrate good virtues that glorify his name.

Pray For God’s Strength To Avoid Passing Judgment on Others

Dear God, please make me a Christian that is sensitive to the need of other people. Save me from passing judgment on others. Instead of judging, give me the strength to be a source of blessing to their lives.

Give me the grace and strength to contribute love, joy, and peace to others.

Empower me to represent you well in this life so that I can receive your blessings always. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS ALWAYS BENIGN – Ezekiel

judgment

God Delivers Judgement According To Believer’s Actions On Earth

Passage: Ezekiel 18

God will judge the earth’s inhabitants via his unbiased rule. He will compel every individual to explain and account for their past sins. We shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for their deeds in the body, according to what he’s done, whether good or bad. God emphasized,

“The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all my statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die. “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not my way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair? When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies. Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive” (Ezekiel 18:20-27).

reward

Our Actions Determine Our Reward

God will bring the world to justice; everyone who has ever lived on earth will face His judgment. Every single person will give an account of his/her past sins. While some people will be exonerated and be awarded heaven, others will be cast into hell fire, where they shall live in everlasting torments.

Only people who have confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and served him well on earth will inherit God’s kingdom. Those who have backslidden from faith, and people who have refused to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be unacceptable in heaven (Matthew 25).

Self-righteous people, and those who claim morality and good works without Christ will have no place in heaven as well.

advocate

Jesus Christ Is An Advocate For All Christians

How can anyone inherit heaven with good works, since humans have a sinful nature? How can anyone be able to successfully justify him or herself in the presence of God with the personal righteous standard? Apparently, no claim of self-righteousness would be adequate enough to measure up to God’s requirements of heaven. This is why humans need an advocate on God’s day of judgment!

Jesus Christ is the only deity who adequately fits the position. He was a sinless man who died for sinful people. God sent him to die for sinners, and he did so! He will stand for people who believe in him. God will honor whatever requests that he makes on behalf of his followers on the day of judgment.

Hence, all people should consider it a good investment to declare their faith in Jesus Christ, and serve him faithfully.

Lord Jesus

Pray For The Acceptance Of Jesus Christ

Dear God, I understand that Jesus Christ is the only deity who has the power to give anyone eternal life, so what am I waiting for? I want to immediately confess Jesus Christ as my Lord. In fact, I will do it right now! I (mention your name) Confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I believe he died for my sins and resurrected to give me eternal life. Therefore, I give my life to him. I will faithfully follow Jesus Christ from today, and I will serve him with all my heart throughout the days of my life. Please forgive my past sins, and write my name in the book of life. Please make me forever fit for your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I made my faith declarations. Amen.

GOD’S JUDGMENT WILL COME ON SINFUL ISRAELITES – Ezekiel

judgment

A Sinner Must Repent To Avert God’s Judgment

(Passage: Ezekiel 14)

God set a precedence of his punishment for the Israelites. He engaged Prophet Ezekiel in a conversation and stated that his people would pay for their sins on an individual basis.

God also promised not to allow any righteous person to save his sinful neighbor.

Every individual will face God to account for his or her sins.

A righteous person would be restricted to only save himself or herself. God said to Ezekiel,

“Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it. Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord God.

…“If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they empty it, and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts, even though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they would be delivered, and the land would be desolate” (Ezekiel 14:13-16 NKJV).

The Judgment of God Is Imminent

God’s judgment is imminent on the unrepentant sinners. Why? God cannot cope with sin. He hates it! Every sinner is mandated to repent of his (or her) sin to enjoy a mutual relationship with God. Jehovah will punish a person who refuses to repent of his sins.

The Creator has two different types of punishments preset for an unrepentant sinner:

He will not bless him on earth, and he will disqualify him from heaven. That is, a person who refuses to repent of his sin will not be in a good position to receive God’s benefits on earth and in heaven.

Meanwhile, Jehovah is willing to forgive any sinner who repents from his or her sin. To obtain sin forgiveness, a person must first confess Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior.

Lord and Savior

No Conflict Between God’s Grace and God’s Judgment

Some people purposefully mix the meaning of God’s love and God’s judgment; they claim that the gracious God cannot be hash in punishing his people.

Unfortunately, this type of reasoning does not disturb God from exercising his judgment on the wicked people.

The two factors (God’s love and God’s judgment) do not conflict with each other.

God’s grace does not disturb God’s judgment.

Despite the fact that Jehovah is gracious, he will still exert his judgment on people who have refused to repent of their sins.

God’s Judgment Day Will Come On The Sinners

God’s judgment is imminent.

The best thing a person can do to escape from the judgment of God is to confess his or her faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross to pay the penalty of sin for all people. His death became the sacrifice of human sins.

Therefore, anyone who confesses him as his or her personal Lord and Savior will be forgiven of his or her sins!

prayer

Prayer To Scale Through God’s Judgment

Dear God, I know that you will judge this world at your own appointed time. I don’t want to be condemned alongside people of the world! I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins.

…Please forgive my sins. I understand that you can only forgive a sin that is confessed through the name of your Son Jesus Christ; therefore, I confess Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I will faithfully follow Jesus Christ from now on, and I will do this for the rest of my life.

…Please bless me on earth and keep me worthy of your eternal benefits in heaven! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
