Be Careful How You Pass Your Judgment on Others
(Passage: Job 1)
Children of God must remember that we are warned not to pass judgment on other people. Christ said, “Judge not so that you won’t be judged, for in the same ways you judge others, you will be judged.”
To better understand this lesson, let’s learn from how Job’s friends behaved when he was in trouble. They rained judgment on him during his trial.
Elihu, Job’s friend, called him a sinner and argued he wouldn’t have been in his bad situation without some wrongdoings. In short, Elihu accused Job that he had committed some secret sins which may have lead to his trouble.
Elihu had claimed,
“What man is like Job, Who drinks scorn like water, Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men? For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight in God” (Job 34:7-9).
(Elihu who judged Job wrong was wrong because Job’s trial had nothing to do with his sin – Read Job 1:6-12).
Avoid Judging Others of Wrongdoing When You’re Not Sure
Human beings are prone to passing a quick judgment based on what they hear or how they perceive others. This practice is bad; Christians must not take part in it. We are warned to mind our business; if involved, we are to research issues to establish facts prior to making a concluding statement.
Again, as children of God, we must avoid making an irrational statement based on feelings and casual assessment.
It is honorable to tame our tongues and stay quiet when we don’t have the complete knowledge of a matter. After confirming the fact that surrounds any situation, children of God are still asked not to judge others (Matthew 7:1-6).
Segregation Is Forbidden For Christians
Christians must not segregate others. A good child of God will not stereotype people based on their race, gender, culture, background, or other reasons.
More importantly, a good child of God must be sensitive to meet the needs of others.
You cannot call yourself a child of God and heap the coal of fire on other people’s injuries.
God will bless us if we represent him well by caring for others. He will bless us as we demonstrate good virtues that glorify his name.
One important message for children of God is to avoid passing judgment on others. The Bible says “Judge not, so that ye shall not be judged!” We must honor others and lead them into accepting the gospel. We must let them know they are special. #judge #beto #childofgod #messageClick to tweet
Dear God, please make me a Christian that is sensitive to the need of other people. Save me from passing judgment on others. Instead of judging, give me the strength to be a source of blessing to their lives.
Give me the grace and strength to contribute love, joy, and peace to others.
Empower me to represent you well in this life so that I can receive your blessings always. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
