All Christians Must Put Their Ultimate Trust In God

(Passage: 1 Samuel 9)

Saul was committed to his family and was busy searching for his father’s missing horse, but God had a bigger plan for him. God instructed Prophet Samuel to anoint Saul and ordain him as the first king of Israel. The remarkable event unfolded thus,

“… Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear the day before Saul came, saying, “Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him commander over my people Israel, that he may save my people from the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come to me.” So when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him, “There he is, the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall reign over my people.” “Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head, and kissed him and said: “Is it not because the Lord has anointed you commander over His inheritance?” (1 Samuel 9:15-17; 1 Samuel 10:1).

God Has Our Best Interests At Heart

God’s way is not always the same as ours; he may decide to surprise us in the way we least expected. No human being can contain God in a box, and we cannot limit him by our limited thoughts. God will do whatever he has determined to do, and nothing can change his plans. Meanwhile, God’s thoughts towards his children are always good. He stated,

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

However, God’s plans may not be fully fulfilled in our lives if we work contrarily to his commandments. We must follow God’s agenda, and we must satisfy him before we can enjoy his ultimate goodness. Therefore, every believer must endeavor to satisfy God so that he or she can enjoy his tremendous grace and goodness to the fullness.

Pray for empowerment to stay within God’s plan

Dear God, please help me to stay within your plans so that I can enjoy your grace and goodness in my life. Enable me with the strength to satisfy you always, and let me remain fit for your blessings. True Believers Will Experience God’s Grace And Wonders In Their Lives Forever

(Passage: Judges 13)

God promised to bless Manoah’s family with a Nazirite child, who would deliver the Israelites from their oppressors. God’s angel said to Manoah’s wife,

“For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.” (Judges 13:5 NKJV).

The child was born and he was named Samson. He grew up to become a judge in Israel, and God anointed him with extraordinary strength. He killed a lion with his bare hands, and he also killed 1000 enemies with a jawbone of a donkey. When thirsty after a battle, Samson prayed to God for water supply– and God answered him instantly. Jehovah used an earthquake to shift earth formations, and the faults instantly gushed out water for Samson to drink – so that he could quench his thirst.

God’s Wonders Is Like None Other

As far as God is concerned, wonders shall never end! He will perform wonders through his anointed servants, and he will ensure that his name is praised throughout the world. Meanwhile, God’s servants are to understand that His selections are not made by the virtue of their righteousness. God who calls, has his own special reasons for awarding specific talents and grace to anyone. Therefore, all servants of God must be humble and be careful not to abuse his grace and talents.

Prayer For Grace To Experience His Wonders

Dear God, please do not let your wonders cease in my life. Let me obtain your grace so that I can be selected for special assignments that would glorify your name throughout the world. True Believers Of Christ Should Embody His Humble Trait

(Passage: Job 1)

Job, in the Bible, was a rich man who portrayed a godly example for all wealthy people to emulate. Job could be described as a billionaire of his time, yet he did not allow his wealth to distract him from being a righteous person. Job served God faithfully, as the Bible reported;

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. And seven sons and three daughters were born to him. Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East. And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly” (Job 1:1-5).

Humility Is Deeply Connected To Receive God’s Blessings

God does not hate the rich people; he loves both poor and rich people alike. Anyone (irrespective of his or her status), who faithfully serves the Lord will receive his favor. Rich people ought to learn how to be godly from Job in the Bible (Job 1:1-5). The man was humble, and he complied with the laws of God throughout his life. Job also taught his children how to fear and faithfully serve God. Job prayed for his children and ask for their forgiveness.

Meanwhile, besides the fact that Job was godly and raised in a righteous family, he also humbly related to both his neighbors and his servants. There was no record that Job mistreated anyone around him. In fact, Job’s lifestyle was so pure to the extent that it caught the attention of God in heaven!

Christians must understand that it is not sinful to desire riches, but it is sinful to desire riches with a wrongful mindset. Christians who desire to be successful on earth must assess his or her motivation, whether it is godly or not. The question we should ask ourselves is; is the motivation for riches based on an attempt to gratify worldly desires, or it is based on an attempt to glorify God?

Christians’ pursuit of success must be solely based on positive perception. It must be based on the goal to satisfy God and benefit the lives of others! A Christian whose heart is pure will receive God’s blessings beyond his or her wildest dream!

Christ, please help me to have a good motivation for success. Once I am blessed, please keep me humble to honor you with my riches! CALEB TRUSTED GOD AND GOT HIS REWARD AS PROMISED – Joshua

True Children Of God Must Trust His Process And Believe His Word

God fulfilled his promise made to Caleb in the wilderness; he granted him an opportunity to own a landed property in Canaan. Indeed, it was a pay-day for Caleb since only he and Joshua brought good reports to Moses in the wilderness. Others compared themselves as grasshoppers against the giants, but Caleb and Joshua confidently declared that God was able to help them possess the Promised Land. The bold declarations of Caleb (and Joshua) made God promise that he would grant them an opportunity to possess the Canaan land. (God disallowed the ten pessimist spies who brought bad reports to Moses and Israelites in the camp – Numbers 14:24).

Caleb, who demonstrated courage at the border of Canaan Land also showed courage, as he was about to witness the fulfillment of God’s promise. Caleb, at a very old age of 85 years, requested that Joshua granted him the portion of the promised land that was occupied by the giants. Caleb told Joshua;

“I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to scout the land of Canaan, and I brought a report back to him as it was in my heart. My brothers (fellow spies) who went up with me made the heart of the people melt with fear; but I followed the Lord my God completely. So Moses swore an oath to me on that day, saying, ‘Be assured that the land on which your foot has walked will be an inheritance to you and to your children always, because you have followed the Lord my God completely.’ And now, look, the Lord has let me live, just as He said, these forty-five years since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, look at me, I am eighty-five years old today. I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war and for going out and coming in. So now, give me this hill country about which the Lord spoke that day, for you heard on that day that the giant-like Anakim were there, with great fortified cities; perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out just as the Lord said.” So Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Therefore, Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed the Lord, the God of Israel, completely. The name of Hebron was formerly Kiriath-arba city of Arba; for Arba was the greatest man among the giant-like Anakim. Then the land had rest from war” (Joshua 14:7-15KJV).

Trust And Faith Work Hand In Hand

Impossibilities will become possibilities for someone who has an absolute trust in God. The person may face some challenges, but the ever-strong God will come to his or her aid. Jehovah will not allow his children who cast their confidence in him be put to shame.

It is important that all children of God understand that they have an obligation to trust God in their situations. No restriction applies, Christians must not consider any situation as insignificant to be treated with faith.

Faith application can relate to our day-to-day activities. Also, faith application can be relative to situations such as bill payment, healing expectation, job provision, marriage resolution, and children’s growth. In other words, believers must trust God for all our businesses! As believers trust God for our situations, we will witness the signs and wonders of God. Faith declarations and expectations will make us have significant testimonies!

Ask The Lord For The Grace To Have Faith In His Words

Dear God, please give me an ability to have resolute faith in you! Help me to demonstrate courage during adversity. Give me the ability to apply faith to all my situations so that I can enjoy your unfiltered benefits! Please be my confidence, be my comfort, and be my testimony! GOD PLACED ISRAELITES ON CONDITIONAL FREEDOM – Leviticus

Christians Must Fully Obey God To Have His Full Blessing

Passage: Leviticus 26

Israelites were free from the Egyptians’ bondage but their freedom had terms and conditions. God who delivered the Israelites from their Egyptians’ oppression placed then under a strict term that they must comply with his laws to continue enjoying the benefit of their freedom. Jehovah emphasized that the people must fully desist from idolatry.

God reiterated to the people of Israel that their deliverance would be a thing of the past if they serve an idol. God stated,

“You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 26:1).

God promised to bless Israelites his people if they serve him with full devotion and desist from any form of idol worship. God stated as quoted,

“If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm my covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. I will set my tabernacle among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be my people” (Leviticus 26:3-12).

Jehovah also reiterated, through Moses, the impending judgment that would befall the Israelites should they engage in idolatry. He stated,

“And after all these, if you do not obey me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit” (Leviticus 26:18-20).

A Christian Must Not Serve An Idol

Any Christian who wants to prosper on earth and also qualify for heaven must not engage in an idol worship. An idol worshiper will not have his or her name written in God’s book of life! God is the only supreme deity that is worthy of our worship. All people must submit to his feet and reverence him with sincere worship.

God is Jehovah; he does not want anyone to equate him with an idol. He does not want anyone to share the glory due to his name with an idol. The Creator will do everything necessary to protect the integrity of his name!

Jehovah requires complete obedience from his children so that he can bless them. Children of God must understand that God cannot be deceived. He knows all things; he knows a person that faithfully serves him, and he knows who does not.

Christians must abide by the laws of God to obtain God’s benefits. Each believer must understand that God has his yardstick of punishment for every sinner unless repentance is exercised! God will not relent until he has properly corrected any of his children that engage in idolatry. It is therefore important that every child of God stays away from idol worship. Every believer must give God an undivided attention and serve him wholeheartedly.

Pray For Grace To Abide By God’s Rule

Dear God, please plant your fear in my heart and help me to serve you wholeheartedly. Empower me by the Holy Spirit to meet your holiness standard! Please guide my thoughts and actions so that I can live a pure life before you! Give me the ability to repent from my sin whenever I make a mistake. Help me to exercise a genuine repentance so that you can be happy with me! Please Help me to be conscious of your laws and empower me to meet your holiness expectation so that I can remain worthy of your eternal kingdom! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. CYRUS SPONSORED THE RECONSTRUCTION OF JERUSALEM – Ezra

God’s Miracles will be Available for Believers

Passage: Ezra 1

One gentile king was inspired to sponsor the reconstruction of God’s Temple in Jerusalem. The king who had an idolatry background allowed God to inspire and use him for the good course. The king’s name is Cyrus, and he ruled the Persia Empire. King Cyrus encouraged the Jews to return to their homeland and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. However, not only did King Cyrus mobilized and sent them to their ancient City of Jerusalem, he also asked the people of his empire to support the Jews. He instructed his people to provide both material and financial support for the Jewish project. The scripture reported,

“Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God) which is in Jerusalem. And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem” (Ezra 1:1-4).

God’s Power will Favor Christians

God has the divine ability to rally support for his children. No one is out of the radar of God’s usage for his good courses! In fact, God can even use an enemy to benefit his children! Jehovah has the autonomous power to use both kings and servants alike for the sake of glorifying his name in the lives of his children. Based on the significant fact that God is able to do all things to assist his children, Christians must exercise their trust in him!

Christians are the children of God. We are the people of his apple eyes. That is, Jehovah will take care of us even when a situation arises to tempt us into doubting him. Christians must not doubt God; we must trust in him at all times. Believers must be confident that God is exceedingly and abundantly able to do all things for our benefits. Of course, the call to trust God does not mean that a Christian should fold his hands in idleness! Every child of God still has an obligation to actively engage his or her task as he or she expects God’s miracle! People who actively trust in God will receive his help. The Creator will manifest his power to assist his diligent children now, and always!

God’s help will be sufficient for his faithful children.

Do you trust that God can help you in your situation? Don’t doubt him. Trust in him, and you will not be disappointed!

Prayer for God’s Help

God of miracle is still alive to answer every prayer.

Dear God, I have learned from the Bible that you are strongly able to do all things to benefit your children. Please give me the ability to trust you in my situations. Help me to patiently wait for your assistance. Also, help me to be diligent in my engagement as I exercise my trust in you. Please raise helper for me from every corner of the earth! Send my helpers from the north, south, east, and west! Please enrich me with your benefits so that I can testify to your goodness throughout the world! (Passage: Haggai 1,2)

Inappropriate priority brought set-back for Israelites. God called the attention of Israelites to the secrets behind their poverty. Israelites were suffering because they have prioritized their personal interests above God’s interest. Moreover, God challenged them to amend their ways so that they can prosper. God said,

“You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes! “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord” (Haggai 1: 6-8 NLT).

Lesson On Christian Priority

Priority check!

Christians are not allowed to prioritize our personal interests above God’s interests. We must consider God’s interest to be primary – while our personal interests become secondary! God is always challenged to help when people adequately prioritize their objectives. The blessings of God will forever abide by people who put God first in their lives.

Indeed God cares and he will bless whoever honors him with the lifestyle of righteousness! He is Jehovah, and he knows how to create a situation that will bless his children who put him first in their lives.

Apostle Paul encouraged the Philippi Christians (as well as all other Christians throughout the world), “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things” (Philippians 4:8).

Christians To Have Unconditional Love For God

(Passage: Habakkuk 3)

The type of relationship that Christians keep with God must be unconditional. We are not required to serve God for the purpose of what we intend to get from him, but we must absolutely serve God because he is our Creator. He is God and there should not be anyone or anything to replace his position in our hearts.

Christians’ declaration of faith in God must be similar to what Prophet Habakkuk stated in the scripture. He said,

“Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills” (Habakkuk 3:17-19 NKJV).

Unconditional Love For God Leads to Blessing

Anyone may have become a Christian for any reason; however, once we have become a Christian, we have an obligation to serve God with an unconditional love.

Christians must serve God with an unconditional love to appease him and to receive his benefits. Of course, we will always have an expectation from God, and we must not hesitate to ask him for what we want. However, we must not become obsessed with our needs and place him on condition that we can only serve him after he has blessed us. Christians must serve God faithfully irrespective of what we expect from him, and whether he has met our needs or not. No doubt that the Creator will meet all our needs! He will fulfill all his plans on us so that we can praise his name.

God Will Help His Obedient Children Prosper

Passage: (Nehemiah 10)

 

Exile Jews who returned to Jerusalem (their homeland) also renewed their covenant with God. They promised to follow God’s rule of marriage, and they also promised to obey his requirement to keep the Sabbath Day holy. The people said,

 

“if the peoples of the land brought wares or any grain to sell on the Sabbath day, we would not buy it from them on the Sabbath, or on a holy day; and we would forego the seventh year’s produce and the exacting of every debt” (Nehemiah 10:31).

God Will Work With An Obedient Child

God is willing to work with any Christian who is determined to serve him well. He will also work with a backslidden Christian who chooses to repent of his sin. Jehovah will accept a repentant sinner in a way that is similar to the story of the Prodigal Son in the bible (Luke 15:11-32). A person who repents from his sins, and serves God well will not be condemned on God’s day of judgment. The person will find his place with God in heaven.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. (Isaiah 1:19-20).

Pray For Power To Obey God

Dear God, please give me a heart that follows your instructions. Help me to humbly repent of my sins and turn a new leaf so that I can qualify for your kingdom. Forgive my past sins and guide me to start living a new life of holiness before you. Christians Serve God of Possibilities Who Rebuilt Jerusalem Wall

(Passage: Nehemiah 12)

Nehemiah who led exile Jews back to their land to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem was opposed by Sanballat and Tobiah. However despite the oppositions, the man of God triumph, and he accomplished his mission. The Jews successfully built the wall and completed it. They also celebrated their achievement to honor God. The scripture reported,

“Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings and singing, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps” (Nehemiah 12:27).

God Who Built Jerusalem Wall Can Do Much More For Us!

God who built Jerusalem’s wall for Nehemiah can help us! Christians serve God of Possibilities; he will make any impossibility turn to possibility for his children! Indeed, God can do all things, and nothing is impossible for him to do. People who are determined to faithfully serve God will receive God’s help to overcome their challenges and have a testimony.

Jehovah will support his faithful children against any obstacle they may confront. It is important that believers understand that we are not ordinary people. We are people anointed by God to succeed on earth. God is on our side, and he will help us prosper in all our ways. Nothing shall be impossible for us in as much we continue to reserve our trust in him!

Pray For Faith To Keep Trusting God

Dear God, please help me to realize my status as your child who deserves to succeed on earth, and also worthy of heaven. Help me to take the steps of faith into achieving my expected breakthroughs! Please bless the work of my hands so that I can prosper and share the testimony of your goodness to people around me.
