Children of God Must Work Hard to Succeed
Passage: 2 Thessalonians 3
Paul encouraged the Thessalonians Christians not to be lazy people. They must work hard; be productive, and be responsible for their family and the society. Paul said,
“For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good” (2 Thessalonians 3:11-13).
Christians Must Be Industrious For God’s Honor
Christianity is a religion that promotes hard works. Children of God must understand that they have an obligation to work hard and provide for the members of their immediate family. On top of that, they have to be productive for their society!
A Christian must not mistake his religion activity as a substitute for caring for the members of his or her family.
A Christian parent or child has some important roles to play in the family. He or she must assume those roles.
Every Christian must efficiently fulfill his or her roles in the family to make God proud. Click to tweet
A Christian who appropriately assumes his or her role in the family will honor God and also send a clear message to the unbelievers that we serve a disciplined God who blesses hard works.
Pray for God’s Grace and Strength to be Diligent
Dear God, please give me the grace to be a diligent Christian who takes care of his (or her) family. Make me someone that labors for the purpose of caring for my family members. Please let my good works make you proud and challenge others to be responsible for their homes. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
