GOD SEES RIGHTEOUSNESS IN OUR HEARTS – 1 Chronicles

righteous

Christians Must Endeavor To Be Righteous

Passage: 1 Chronicles 28

God’s word and His wisdom are diffused with righteous. Righteousness brings blessings, peace, joy. It’s a law His kingdom. Being righteous is a huge blessing opportunity. It does not affect just us, but the people around us, the society we live in. It comes with incredible benefits. King David shared the secret of his success with his son Solomon and said,

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever” (1 Chronicles 28:9).

reward

God Rewards Only Those Who Live Righteously

Our secret intentions may be hidden from fellow human beings, but they are definitely not hidden from God. Our creator weighs every human intention, and he awards measurable rewards for our actions.

Therefore, since God cannot be deceived, we Christians should offer our best services to God at all times.

We should avoid being involved in “eye-service” and willingly commit our lives to serving God faithfully. We must always serve God in all righteousness.

1 chronicles

Pray For Grace To Serve God Genuinely

Dear God, I understand that I cannot deceive you with pretense and eye-service. I also acknowledge the fact that you will bless me if I faithfully serve you. Therefore, I ask that you give me the grace to commit my total heart to serving you. Please let me qualify for your blessing. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

WORRY NOT, GOD IS ALL-SUFFICIENT! – Matthew

Worry

Christians Must Do Away With Worry

Passage: Matthew 6

Jesus instructed his followers to not worry about anything, but they should have confidence in God. He told them to look at the birds in the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet the heavenly Father feeds them.

Believers must be joyous and hopeful at all times. We must have an expectation that the promises of God in our lives will come to pass. Jesus said,

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:25-34).

faith

Absolute Trust In God Facilitates God’s Protection

People who serve God must not be anxious about anything, but we must be hopeful in God. Believers must be confident that God is ever strong to help us overcome any challenge and lead us to victory.

Christians must understand that Satan outsources scary situations to challenge our faith. His goal is to make us doubt God and stumble in faith. No Christian should give in to worrying.

We must be full of faith and have high expectations. As we demonstrate unwavering faith, God will turn our trials into testimonies, and he will also make Satan be ashamed. Indeed, God will compensate our faith and turn it to testimonies!

prayer

Pray Not To Worry But Show Absolute Faith

Dear God, please help me to demonstrate unwavering faith in you. Help me to stop worrying about life challenges. Help me to realize that you are in charge of my life, and you will perfect whatever concerns me! As I continue to trust you, let my terrible situation turn around to a good one, and let me have the story of your goodness to share with other believers and the rest of the world. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

JESUS TURNS WATER TO WINE

JESUS THE MYSTERY MAN – Episode 6

This Bible story series run about the life of Jesus Christ was adapted from the book Who Was Jesus, Really? (Book 1,2,3) By James Taiwo.

JESUS FIRST MIRACLE

obedience

We have talked, so far, about Jesus’ unusual way of doing things. For example, he called his disciples at odd times in their lives, yet, the exercise was successful. In this episode, we are going to talk about Jesus’ first miracle ever. The story and the lessons learned were adopted from Chapter Five of Who Was Jesus Really? Book One.

Also, try and read along from your Bible (John 2)

Jesus, who was the chosen Son of God, always does his things by God’s timing. He decided to first spend time with his disciples before going public with his ministry. But, one event changed it all!

A wedding event took place at Cana of Galilee; Jesus was invited, so he decided to bring his disciples along. Mary, Jesus’ mother, was there also.

Everything was going great at the wedding until something unexpected happened; the wine finished!

Can you imagine!

Back then, having little wine at a wedding reflects so bad on the couple’s parents. It means they were poor and couldn’t plan well.

Do you know what happened eventually? (I won’t tell you now, just keep reading 🙂 )

The event organizer told Mary about the problem of insufficient wine.

Hmm, Mary seemed to have a solution!

She knew her son (Jesus) could perform any miracle for any need. She had seen Jesus at home, doing many unimaginable things – good stuff!

Mary went to tell Jesus about what had just happened. She said, “They have no wine!”

Jesus knew what Mary was up to. She wanted him to perform a miracle.

Jesus replied, “What would I have to do with you woman? My time is not yet come”.

What do you think Mary would do with Jesus’ response?

Most mothers would let things be at that point and tell the wedding organizer, “I’m sorry, Sir, my son doesn’t’ want to be bothered!” But, guess what – Mary didn’t do that!

Mary wouldn’t budge for a negative affirmation. She knew Jesus always does good things for people; she knew he would help.

So, Mary instructed the organizer to make sure he does whatever Jesus tells him to do.

In other words, Mary was saying, make sure to obey Jesus’ any instruction no matter how absurd it may sound.

Truly, Jesus’ statement sounded absurd. He asked the wedding organizer to go and fetch ordinary water and serve people, starting from the chairman of the event.

Can you imagine that!

The organizer was smart to obey Jesus. He did everything that Jesus asked him to do.

Now you can guess what happened after that? It was Jesus’ first public miracle.

The water turned to wine!

What!!!!!!!!

Yep, the water turned to wine. And the wine tasted much better than any other wine people have ever tasted.

obedience

Children – What Lesson Do We Learn Here?

O boy - Nope!

Good girl - Yes, Obedience!

From this book, we learn how important it is to obey the word of Jesus no matter how we feel about it, whether we think it makes sense or not.

Obedience is a sign of trust and faith in God.

In other words, obeying and trusting the word of God will always generate the miracle we are expecting.

Of course, obedience is not the only lesson to learn from this story. There are other lessons, which are explained in Chapter 5 of Who Was Jesus Really? Book One. You may want to grab a copy of this book.

THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS – Revelation

blood of jesus

The Blood Of Jesus Delivers From Every Tribulation

Passage: Revelation 12

Satan attempted to overthrow God in heaven, but he lost. Angel Michael and his godly angels fought Satan and his troops, and they defeated the evil angels. They were chased out of heaven to face eternal condemnation afterward.

Meanwhile, Michael and his fellow angels wouldn’t have been able to defeat Satan if not for the power comprised in the blood of Jesus Christ.

The scripture stated;

“They overcame by the blood of the Lamb!” It is reported, “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.

…So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

…Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

…And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12:7-11).

overcame

The Name & Blood Of Jesus Are Spiritual Tools To Conquer Satan

There is power in the blood of Jesus Christ to overcome Satan and his cohorts. Satan trembles whenever the name of Jesus Christ is mentioned; he also trembles in the same manner whenever the blood of Jesus Christ is mentioned. Angel Michael defeated the evil angel in heaven with authority contained in the blood of Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:7-11).

Christians must use the same medium to defeat the enemy. Both Satan and his demons will tremble before Jesus’ name and blood as they made in heaven. They cannot withstand the authority of Jesus Christ!

Therefore, no Christian should hesitate to use appropriate tools against his (or her) enemies – the Name and Blood of Jesus.

Believers should command Satan to get lost from their lives to live overcomers lives! Those who do so will not regret their actions, but they will live victoriously on earth.

Let somebody who considers himself shout Hallelujah!

victory

Proclaim Victory Over The Devil through the Blood of Jesus

In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke Satan. I command the enemy to get lost from my life! I break his power by the authority in the name of Jesus Christ! I also use the authority of the blood of Jesus Christ to destroy all the enemy’s influences in my life.

…I triumph over Satan and his evil forces from today, and forever! The salvation of Jesus Christ is mine, and his victory is mine also. For “I am more than conquerors by Christ who loves me!” (Romans 8:37).

…For in the name of Jesus Christ, I exercise my authority. Amen.

JESUS CHOOSES HIS DISCIPLES

This Bible story series run about the life of Jesus Christ was adapted from the book Who Was Jesus, Really? (Book 1,2,3) By James Taiwo.

Jesus The Mystery Man – Episode 5

Jesus chooses disciples

Our previous post discussed Jesus’ preparation to fulfill his ministry purpose and how Satan tried to derail him from the mission.

Satan tempted Jesus with different tricks with the hope that he might get confused and miss his purpose, but the enemy lost!

In the previous post, we also identified the clues that made Jesus prevail over Satan.

In this post, we are going to discuss the events of how Jesus was able to gather twelve men that he needed for his ministry.

(You can read the full story in the Bible- Mark 1)

The twelve men were also called the apostles. (Apostle – meaning one who is sent away).

It wasn’t news that Jesus is the Messiah, promised by God through the prophets. John the Baptist had proclaimed this fact to everyone who would listen, but few people had listened so far.

Jesus, while going around doing good, preaching the word of God and healing people, he refused to brag about the fact that he is the Son of God. Yes, you can call it humility, but that didn’t stop him from calling out to the people who will tell others – The disciples, which are also called apostles!

Perhaps what was more surprising is not the way Jesus called his disciples, but rather at the odd times he did it.

The Book One of “Who Was Jesus, Really?” in its fourth chapter shows that Jesus was walking one day along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the lake because they were fishermen.

Jesus was excited, and he said, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men!” Without delay, they left their nets and ran to meet Jesus.

Fishers of men

As they went a little farther, they saw the sons of Zebedee in a boat with their father, cleaning their nets and about to go for the next night of fishing.

Jesus quickly called them to follow him, and they happily left their father, Zebedee, with the servants and followed Jesus. He told them they wouldn’t be looking for fish any longer, but that he would teach them how to “fish” people for the kingdom of God.

Imagine that! They were still working when He beckoned unto them.

Imagine someone calling you to come right now regardless of what you are doing, asking that you leave everything you are doing and follow him. Would you answer?

You might object the call, but the sons of Zebedee left their father in the boat in the early mornings (while preparing for their fishery business) to follow Jesus.

Jesus Is Calling!

Jesus called his twelve disciples on different occasions.

The names of the disciples are Simon Peter, Andrew, John, James (sons of Zebedee), Philip, Matthew, Bartholomew, Thomas, James (son of Alpheus), Simon (the patriot), Thaddaeus, and Judas Iscariot.

Of course, there were some other men and women who later became Jesus’ disciples, but those twelve men were different because they were divinely selected. Jesus sent them out to proclaim the good news to others about God’s kingdom.

Lesson To Learn

The action of the sons of Zebedee and others that Jesus called is indeed exemplary! Those people were eager to follow Jesus. They didn’t allow their private business to stop them from following the Master.

What else do we learn?

Jesus showed no discrimination whatsoever in his choices; instead, he let the Holy Spirit guide him about who to call.

Jesus can call anyone at any time.

Matthew, for example, was a tax collector, and yet Jesus called him. This shows us how Jesus can call anyone at any time. But the question is, will you answer him whenever he calls you?

The most important lesson from the process of Jesus’ selection of his disciples is that he is interested in everyone.

Jesus is still calling us now. Anyone who answers his call is another disciple added to the list.

Jesus is calling you!

Join us in the next episode to learn more about how good Jesus is.

EXPECT TEMPTATIONS IF YOU ARE TO INHERIT GOD’S KINGDOM! – 1 Peter

temptations

God Rewards Believers Who Persevere During Temptations & Tribulations

Passage: 1 Peter 1

Children of God are encouraged to endure their trials and temptations for the sake of receiving God’s eternal reward in heaven. Our God is faithful; He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we bear

Also, God will provide a way out of any troubling situation so that believers can praise his name. Therefore, Christians must consider it important to stay close to God with unwavering faith to receive God’s incorruptible crown of glory on the last day. It is written,

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:6-7).

Reward

Enduring Temptations Earns Christians An Eternal Reward

Every child of God ought to endure whatever challenges of faith he or she may face as the effort would be rewarded in heaven. God will crown Christians who endure persecutions and trials of faith in the last days. Christ has warned believers not to assume that Christianity would be easy.

Christianity would not always come with the “bed of roses” experience. The religion would come with its own challenge of persecutions and temptations, as certain people will attack Christians and persecute them for their faith. Some Christians would be persecuted to death! However, any Christian who endures faith to the end will be rewarded.

It is important that every Christian stands firm in faith and endure persecution to receive God’s priceless eternal reward in heaven.

persecution

Say This Prayer To Overcome Temptations and Keep Unwavering Faith In God

Dear God, please keep me in faith and let me remain consistent with your holy standard. Help me to endure persecution and temptation. Empower me through your Holy Spirit to stand firm against the trials and temptations so that I can make it to your kingdom. Let me qualify to hear your voice saying, “Weldone and welcome my good servant.” For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.

RAPTURE WILL HAPPEN; BE PREPARED – 2 Peter

rapture

Be Aware Of The Necessary Teachings Of The Rapture

Passage: 2 Peter 3

Rapture means the second coming of Jesus Christ. Skeptics have criticized this Christian believe with an argument that Jesus may not return and the world will not come to an end. Some who dispute the peaching of rapture even attack those who preach it. Meanwhile, the fact remains that the warning signs of the end time are coming to fulfillment in our day.

The Bible has warned believers to be careful of their relationship with people who dispute and influence others not to believe the fact that Jesus Christ will return to rapture his saints to heaven.

It is written in the Bible,

“Beloved, I now write to you…that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

…But the heavens and the earth, which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up….” (2 Peter 3:1-9).

second coming

Be Cautious And Ready For Rapture

Teachings about the end time and rapture (second coming of Jesus) are essential for all. The teachings are validated in the Bible (Matthew 24). The second coming of Jesus is imminent, and everyone must prepare for it.

Human skepticism about the end time and rapture cannot change the mind of God. God does not operate like humans. He uses a different calendar (and his views are pure!)

Humans must not underestimate God’s timing which may be different from ours. The Bible states,

“… With the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8). The second coming of Jesus Christ is imminent. Christ will return as promised, and transport his saint to heaven. Whoever left behind will suffer devil’s torture. The person would be eventually sent to hell fire. (Rev. 21:8).

It is important that everyone confesses Jesus Christ as God’s Son to be saved. Confess Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior to escape the punishment of hell fire and qualify for heaven.

end time

Pray For Strength To Be Ready

Dear God, please help me to qualify for your kingdom! I confess my faith in Jesus Christ. I believe he died for my sins. I also believe he resurrected from death to give me eternal life. From now on, I repent of my sins, and I dedicate my complete life to Jesus Christ. I will serve him till he returns to transport me to his kingdom. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for your saving grace! Amen

TRUST EQUALS FAITH – 2 Chronicles

People Must Exhibit Trust In God To Recieve Their Blessing

Passage: 2 Chronicles 20

trust

An exhibition of trust can lead to your blessing! This fact can be more established by studying an event that happened in 2 Chronicles 20. Some hostile nations surrounded the land of Judah with a mission to loot and kill its dwellers. The enemies were numerous, and the scene appeared horrific for the people of Judah and their king, Jehoshaphat. However, Jehoshaphat summoned the courage to preserve his trust in God. He trusted God and prayed for victory. The scripture reported how he prayed,

“O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” (2 Chronicles 20:12).

God responded to King Jehoshaphat’s prayer with a promise to deliver him. The king believed the promise and took a rare decision to start praising God immediately.

King Jehoshaphat demonstrated his trust in God by organizing a special worship session to honor God for his victory promise. His trust-action led to a testimony. God was moved with the praises offered by Jehoshaphat and his people during their difficult moment.

God acted in an unprecedented manner to deliver King Jehoshaphat and his people from their enemies.

The bible reported,

“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another” (2 Chronicles 20:22-23).

exercise

God Fights For People Who Exercise Their Faith In Him

God fights for his people, and he will not allow their enemies to rejoice over them. Do not doubt that Jehovah will go any length to defend his people. God’s action against the wicked people may be severe, and perhaps, bring them more destructions than they would have imagined.

Jehovah will fight whosoever allows Satan to use him against his people (God’s people). This should be considered as a great warning for anyone who intends to hurt a child of God. The person should think twice before carrying out his action since God may either defend or revenge any action taken against them.

There are dire consequences for anyone who attacks a child of God!

A believer who reserves his (or her) trust in God during a trial moment should not relent. He should expect to laugh soon and testify to the faithfulness of God.

The fact that God will do whatever necessary to protect his children from any evil should be resonating in our hearts always!

faith

Pray For Grace To Exercise Faith In God

Dear God, I am privileged to be your child! I realized that I am your “choice child” whom you won’t abandon to suffer. You will go to any extent to care and protect me to glorify your name. I firmly believe that you will give me an upper hand over my adversaries and award me a testimony.

Please give me the Grace to keep trusting and remain your true child unto the end. Help me to live in faith so that I can enjoy your victory in every day of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

GOD RECOGNIZES HUMILITY – Luke

humility

Acts Of Humility Can Prompt God To Elevate You Higher Than Expected

Passage: Luke 19

Jesus, in all His magnificent power and glory, did not see any problem in comparing Himself to a Lamb. This shows the beauty of God’s humility. This is the same way Christians are expected to remain humble, as Jesus is our perfect example.

Zacchaeus, who was a rich man humbled himself to receive the salvation of Jesus Christ. He climbed a tree in desperation to see Jesus, and the Messiah recognized his magnificent effort and saved him.

The scripture reported,

“Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house” (Luke 19:2-5).

humble

Humility & Turning To Righteousness Works Hand In Hand

Jesus Christ will save a humble person, but he will not save an arrogant person. Humble people are willing to compromise their sinful acts and turn a new leaf, but arrogant individuals stubbornly hold on to their sins and they would not budge (even when Christ wants to save them.)

Meanwhile, Christ will leave the door of his salvation open for all sinners, until the appointed time that he would shut the door permanently!

Anyone who remains adamant in sin until the last minute will have himself or herself to be blamed. The individual will not have the opportunity to go to heaven but will go to hell fire.

Therefore, all people must repent from their sins before it is too late! Anyone who wants to prove that he or she is humble should pray the prayer of salvation.

prayer

Pray For Christ’s Salvation

Dear Jesus Christ, I confess that you are the living Son of God who has died for my sins. You died on the cross and resurrected from the grave to give me eternal life. I believe you, and I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. As from today, I declare myself a “Born-Again Christian.” I will follow and serve you for the rest of my life. Amen.

JESUS FACES TEMPTATION

A Bible story series run about the life of Jesus Christ adapted from the book Who Was Jesus, Really? By James Taiwo.

JESUS THE MYSTERY MAN – Episode 4

In the previous post, we discussed Jesus’s preparation for his ministry (or purpose – as he called it) and how he went to meet John to baptize him. In this episode, we are going to discuss another major event of Jesus’s life as portrayed in the third chapter of the book “Who Was Jesus, Really? – Book One.” It is about his temptation. So how did it happen?

temptation

Immediately, Jesus left John at River Jordan, the Holy Spirit that had descended on him in the form of a dove lead him into the wilderness where he was expected to fast and pray to prepare for his journey.

A purpose as big as his would require him to acquire more spiritual power; so there he was in the jungle for forty days and forty nights without food or water (that is, he went on forty days dry fasting).

Imagine living an entire day without food. Hard right? Well, Jesus did it for a good forty days! As anyone would predict, Jesus became extremely tired and hungry after those long forty days. The devil decided to tempt him based on his present condition.

The book one of “Who was Jesus Really?” Described the three temptations that Satan gave Jesus and how He (Jesus) was able to overcome Satan’s tricks through the word of God.

The Temptation

The devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the glory of the Earth. He said he was willing to give it all to Jesus if only Jesus would worship him. Can you see how smart the devil thinks he is?

Jesus quickly rebuked him and said,

“Get thee behind me, Satan! It is written, thou shall worship the lord your God, and him alone shall you serve.”

The devil still didn’t give up. He took Jesus to Jerusalem and set him on a pinnacle—a very high place—and told Jesus to jump. If he was really the son of God, the angels would not let him fall, but Jesus answered,

“Thou shall not tempt the Lord thy God!”

The devil knew he had lost and decided to leave Jesus alone for a while. Then the angels came and gave Jesus food and water. Phew!

Satan’s Intention

The devil tried Jesus’s hunger and thirst and his newly acquired power against him, but Jesus was spiritually smart.

He knew the commandment of God better than Satan. He also knew better than to allow any ego to take over.

Of course, there are many lessons to be taken from this short tale, the majority of which has already been identified in Chapter four of the book.

Perhaps the most important of them all is to understand the word of God as written in the Bible.

An inadequate understanding of the word of God can lead to devastating failure.

Lesson To Learn

If anyone wants to overcome every obstacle and live victoriously in this world of ours, it is necessary to keep God’s word at heart.
