GOD WATCHES OVER HIS FAITHFUL CHILDREN – Psalm

faithful

God Won’t Let His Faithful Children Be Disappointed

(Passage: Psalm 107)

You can always count on God to be faithful to you! God never fails his promises to his children. Be expecting him to help you if you serve him diligently.

A psalmist had a reflection of the past and praised God for all his goodness on his people. God’s children (Israelites) suffered many things in the hands of their enemies. The journey of life was rough for them, but God showed up, in the end, to bail them out of all troubles.

Even while Israelites were passing through thin and thick journey of life, God was with them all along.

Our faithful God was with his children always. He forgave their sins and delivered them from their troubles.

God fed his helpless children that were wondering for food; he fed them with angels’ food.

Once the psalmist  reflected on the past, he praised God and proclaimed:

They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses” (Psalm 107:4-6).

Ever Faithful God Watches Over Us

God, the keeper of his people, never sleeps nor slumbers. He will remain wonderful to us – His people who associate with him.

One prime benefit of God’s faithfulness is that he forgives sin. Whatever wrong was done can be forgiven – no matter how bad it appears.

Yep, God forgives if you can repent and pray to him!

Has God promised you before? No worries, be assured he won’t disappoint you.

Consider yourself fortunate if God has promised you in the past because he will fulfill his promises. You can count on God any time any day!

Your assurance as a child of God

Jehovah will forgive the sins of his children and save them from their troubles. The Creator does not behave like humans that constantly change their minds.

God does not change his mind. He will honor his covenant of peace, protection, and prosperity that he has made for people that faithfully walk before him.

You, as a child of God, do not have any cause to suffer, but God is always with you, and he will give you the reason to always praise his holy name.

Pray For God’s Grace and Care

Dear God, please give me peace. Help me to believe your promises for my life.

Please God, keep me consistent with you so that I can enjoy your divine blessings at all times.

Give me the grace to praise and serve you in the beauty of your holiness, so that I can live in peace and prosperity in this life, and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.

Prayer Is The Master Key That Opens Any Door

key

Christians Must Learn Not To Relent In Prayer

Jesus Christ admonished His disciples to always wait upon God in prayer. Those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint. And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

Paul solicited the prayers of God’s saints so that he could have more opportunity to preach the gospel. He said,

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak” (Colossians 4:2-4).

Ask God For Anything In Prayer

Prayer remains an effectual key to obtaining victories through Jesus Christ. Our prayers must not only centralize requests to meet physical needs. We must also daily ask God to empower us to effectively preach the gospel to unbelievers so that they can come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Our tenacious prayers will unlock the doors of gentiles’ hearts and make them respond to the love of Jesus Christ.

Pray For Divine Empowerment

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that God would anoint me with power and grace to evangelize the gospel to unbelievers. I pray that the Holy Spirit of God will fill my mouth when I open it to preach the gospel.

I also pray that the Holy Spirit will open the unbelievers’ hearts to understand and respond to the love of Jesus Christ.

May the light of God overcome all works of darkness in my life and in the lives of my neighbors! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

ACTIVE DECISIONS OVERCOME CHALLENGES – Nehemiah

decisions

Faith In God Delivers Us From Challenges

(Passage: Nehemiah 4)

You can’t completely escape challenges in this world, but be sure you will overcome if you are a child of God.

Believers must have confidence in God that we serve. We must make efforts through prayer and fasting to stop our opponents, and not allow them to keep us down. We serve God who has all the powers to take control of any situation.

Of course, a Christian should not fold hands in idleness and still expect to have victory. We have to bravely think and act.

Children of God must not hesitate to take any action as it honors God and necessary to confront our challenges. As we take the step, we must have the assurance that God is on our side to earn us victory.

Let’s learn from the Bible men who took courage to forge ahead in spite of the challenges they faced:

Two rebel leaders in the Bible, Sanballat and Tobiah challenged Nehemiah who wanted to glorify God by rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem (A ruined city once dedicated to God’s honor).

Sanballat and Tobiah did all they could to stop the rebuild efforts, but they failed.

Part of the effort from Sanballat and Tobiah includes mockery and false accusations. None of those efforts stuck, because Nehemiah and his people prayed and were determined to do the will of God.

The scripture reported how Sanballat and Tobiah attacked Nehemiah and his men on the mission to repair Jerusalem’s wall:

“But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish—stones that are burned?” Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall” (Nehemiah 4:1-3).

No Opposition Can Derail God’s Children In Their Decisions

Nehemiah and his men summon the courage to keep working for God. They were determined not to yield to enemies’ pressure. (Of course, expect they also prayed!)

Nehemiah and his men prayed and acted against their enemies; they stood to defend themselves, and they had good success.

Nehemiah said in his prayers:

“Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads, and give them as plunder to a land of captivity! Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before you; for they have provoked you to anger before the builders…

Therefore I (Nehemiah) Positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings; and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows. And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses” (Nehemiah 4:4-5; Nehemiah 4:13-14).

Trust In God and You Shall Conquer Every Challenge

Be prepared: Christian opposition like Sanballat and Tobiah will sometimes come around to frustrate the efforts of God’s children. We must be prepared not to let them succeed.

The enemies may mount oppositions that are not limited to physical and spiritual assault; their ultimate goal is to make God’s children compromise their stand with God. But will they win? No, they won’t win if we are prayerful and are determined in our positive decisions.

The more we prepare, the better our victory will become. The enemies don’t encourage good ventures. They are all out for evil, so we must be prayerful and sensitive.

Be sensitive not to allow your enemies to fulfill their mission. Identify the enemies’ scheme, be prayerful, and make a godly tactical decision to stop them.

Ask God for the grace to trust him and he will surely help you overcome any dire situation.

Pray For God’s Grace To Make Proactive Decisions.

Dear God, I trust in you and I pray that you will give me the grace and wisdom to appropriately relate to issues of life. Help me to have the wisdom and strength needed to overcome any challenge that enemies may want to bring my way.

Please frustrate anyone who may want to stop my efforts in serving you. Let the generation of Sanballat and Tobiah be defeated in my life!

I receive your grace to remain confident so that I can continue to serve you in Spirit and in truth, as you required.

Please keep me victorious always, and let me ever testify to your goodness. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

YOUR PRAYER CAN MOVE ANY MOUNTAIN – Psalm

prayer

God Hears and Answers His Children’s Prayer

(Passage: Psalm 57)

Children of God must have confidence in God and be sure that he will answer their prayers. Indeed, God is not deaf and he is not wicked. He will appropriately respond to our petitions when we call upon him.

God is good at all times. Also, he is neither deaf nor dumb. Anyone who prays to him with the heart of expectation should expect that he will respond.

Of course, God may run a schedule of operation that is different from ours, but be rest assured that he will always provide you a perfect solution to any problem.

Indeed, God has the power to answer any prayer. He is the Creator of the universe, and he has all powers to do and undo any situation.

People who call unto God in prayer must trust that he will respond. That is, never give up your confidence in God!

Believers should learn from King David in the Bible, who did not allow any situation to negatively influence his prayer life.

David, the servant of God, refused to rely on any man’s help when he fell into a crisis; he cried to God for help, and Jehovah reciprocated his prayer of faith with a decisive victory.

During a crisis, David prayed,

“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in you; And in the shadow of your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth” (Psalm 57:1-3).

Prayers Are Expressive and Prompt God To Act

Never underestimate the importance of prayer!

No better tool for Christians than prayer and Bible study. Prayer is a very important tool that we must explore for our everyday use.

Prayer is not all about asking; children of God must bless God when they appear in His presence.

Of course, we must table our requests during prayers, but we must also not forget to appreciate the Lord for all his past benefits in our lives.

However, the most important aspect of this discussion is that Christian must never hesitate to pray to God in any situation!

We must table our requests to the Creator at all times (and in any situation).

Just the final note:

Christians should not just cry to God for the sake of expressing pain during any difficult moment, but we should invite God into our situations  -Who is capable of handling both the present and any future ones that may arise.

Pray for the Ability to Invite God into Your Situation

Dear God, please teach me how to pray! Enable me with the strength to express my feelings in your presence. Also, please, empower me to exercise my trust as I pray.

Help me to make consistent prayer as my daily practice. Let me experience the benefit of an answered prayer so that I can testify to your goodness in the land of the living. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

SATAN ALWAYS TEMPTS CHRISTIANS TO DERAIL THEM – Luke

Christians: Be Vigilant And Prayerful To Overcome Satan’s Temptations

(Passage: Luke 6)

The Pharisees camouflage under their religion to criticize Jesus.

They were Jealous of Jesus’ ministry and would seize any opportunity to rage at him. The Pharisees did not relent in stalking Jesus all day long.

They were eager to find an excuse to criticize and demean his ministry.

The Bible reported some of the Pharisees’ actions,

“Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first that He (Jesus) Went through the grain fields. And His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate them, rubbing them in their hands.

…And some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?” The scripture also reported, “Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught.

…And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him” (Luke 6:6-7) (Luke 6:1-2).

The Footsteps of Jesus Will Help Us Overcome Satan’s Temptation

Satan loves to station his evil agents around the people of God in a bid to frustrate their efforts.

The enemies always focus on making attempts to derail believers from their pursuits of righteousness.

They do this by castigating their works and throwing every available stone at them while hoping one might stick.

Therefore, to overcome the enemy (the devil), Christians must be spiritually sensitive (watchful) and prayerful.

They must, also, be filled with the Holy Spirit always.

Meanwhile, believers must not forget that Satan’s intention is not just to discourage them from serving God only; his prime goals are to kill, steal, and destroy their salvation (according to John 10:10).

Hence, children of God must remain prayerful and watchful.

Christians should imbibe Jesus’ actions towards the opposition and react appropriately in all situations.

For example, when Satan instigated fury in the Pharisees to waylay Jesus, he did the following:

  • Jesus ignored the Pharisees – Believers should largely ignore their critics.
  • Jesus remained persistent in doing God’s business –Believers should never stop doing God’s will.
  • Jesus always withdrew to a silent place to pray for the renewal of his strengths after ministering –Believers must always refill and refresh their energy through prayers.
  • Jesus changed locations to avoid enemies’ distractions –Believers should diversify in ministry to outsmart their enemies.

Pray For The Power To Conquer The Devil’s Temptations

Dear God, please give me the strength to overcome Satan and live triumphantly on earth, while glorifying your holy name!

…Again, give me the strength to remain focused and pay no attention to the devil and his evil agents! Let your Holy Spirit empower me to remain immovable, and to keep serving you faithfully during opposition and challenges.

…Also, let your Holy Spirit empower me to be watchful and prayerful so that I can keep prospering in all my activities. When my earthly race is over, let me appear in your presence in heaven to hear the word “well-done and welcome my servant to the joy of your Lord!” For in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed.

Amen.
