Christians To Obey God For Their Benefits
(Passage: Jonah 2)
Prophet Jonah disobeyed God and attempted to escape, but God caught him red-handedly. God caught Jonah in a ship and commanded a fish to swallow him. The stubborn servant felt the heat of hell until he repented. Jonah repented while in the belly of a fish; God heard his voice and saved him.
The scripture reported,
“Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. And he said: “I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. “Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice. For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and your waves passed over me” (Jonah 2:1-3 NKJV).
It Is Better To Obey God Than To Disobey Him
A person should aspire to obey God and receive his blessing than to disobey him and suffer terrible consequences. God who dearly loves his children also has a special mode of correction for his children. Jehovah can allow his children to suffer for the sake of saving them. However, anyone who willingly obeys God has an advantage of receiving greater benefits than a person who was coerced into obedience. God rates his favorite children by their obedience. He will establish his abiding presence with his favorite children. He will rescue them during trouble and provide for their needs. Jehovah will satisfy the needs of his faithful children from this earth to heaven.
