True Christianity Entails Faithful Focus On God’s Word
Passage: 2 Chronicles
You must be willing and obey if you are to eat the good of the land. Sometimes when God puts forth a promise, it comes with a condition. It comes with you doing your part so that He can do His part. God blessed King Asa conditionally, in a bid to motivate him into good behavior. King Asa would receive God’s protection, only if found faithful. This meant he would suffer punishment if found unfaithful to God. The scriptures reported,
“Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you” (2 Chronicles 15:1-2).
God Rewards Only Those Who Faithfully Worship Him
God cares; He is loving and will bless only those who faithfully serve him. However, since the Creator cannot revoke his righteous standard, he would be unable to bless those that are inconsistent in their relationship with him. Jehovah refuses to bless people who live in sin.
Unrepentant sinners may be at an arm’s length with God unless repented. They would also miss God’s blessings. Meanwhile, people who love God and faithfully serve him will be blessed with riches and honor. Men and women who faithfully serve God will prosper in all their ways. Their blessings will glorify God and motivate others into serving him.
