GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS ALWAYS BENIGN – Ezekiel

judgment

God Delivers Judgement According To Believer’s Actions On Earth

Passage: Ezekiel 18

God will judge the earth’s inhabitants via his unbiased rule. He will compel every individual to explain and account for their past sins. We shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for their deeds in the body, according to what he’s done, whether good or bad. God emphasized,

“The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all my statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die. “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not my way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair? When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies. Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive” (Ezekiel 18:20-27).

reward

Our Actions Determine Our Reward

God will bring the world to justice; everyone who has ever lived on earth will face His judgment. Every single person will give an account of his/her past sins. While some people will be exonerated and be awarded heaven, others will be cast into hell fire, where they shall live in everlasting torments.

Only people who have confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and served him well on earth will inherit God’s kingdom. Those who have backslidden from faith, and people who have refused to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be unacceptable in heaven (Matthew 25).

Self-righteous people, and those who claim morality and good works without Christ will have no place in heaven as well.

advocate

Jesus Christ Is An Advocate For All Christians

How can anyone inherit heaven with good works, since humans have a sinful nature? How can anyone be able to successfully justify him or herself in the presence of God with the personal righteous standard? Apparently, no claim of self-righteousness would be adequate enough to measure up to God’s requirements of heaven. This is why humans need an advocate on God’s day of judgment!

Jesus Christ is the only deity who adequately fits the position. He was a sinless man who died for sinful people. God sent him to die for sinners, and he did so! He will stand for people who believe in him. God will honor whatever requests that he makes on behalf of his followers on the day of judgment.

Hence, all people should consider it a good investment to declare their faith in Jesus Christ, and serve him faithfully.

Lord Jesus

Pray For The Acceptance Of Jesus Christ

Dear God, I understand that Jesus Christ is the only deity who has the power to give anyone eternal life, so what am I waiting for? I want to immediately confess Jesus Christ as my Lord. In fact, I will do it right now! I (mention your name) Confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I believe he died for my sins and resurrected to give me eternal life. Therefore, I give my life to him. I will faithfully follow Jesus Christ from today, and I will serve him with all my heart throughout the days of my life. Please forgive my past sins, and write my name in the book of life. Please make me forever fit for your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I made my faith declarations. Amen.

GOD MAKES A WAY WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE NONE – Exodus

trust

God’s Children Must Believe In Him Always

Passage: Exodus 3

God has not forgotten his children; he has their issues fresh on his mind, and he will help them as they trust him. Some people who were hopeless in their situations in the Bible received God’s help; you will also receive yours also!

One King Pharaoh who appeared to be unfamiliar with the story of Joseph in Egypt subjected all Hebrews to slavery. He forced them to hard labor and questioned the existence of their God. The people were depressed and hopeless but God miraculously sent them his help.

God appointed Moses to console the Hebrews and also tell King Pharaoh to release the Hebrews (Israelites). Moses must tell King Pharaoh, “Let my people go!”

Moses was unwilling to do God’s errand, but the Creator got his attention miraculously through a burning bush incidence. The Bible reported,

”And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you’”…“Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.’ Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, “I have surely visited you and seen what is done to you in Egypt; and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey”’ (Exodus 3:14-17).

hebrews

You Serve A Great God; Trust Him For His Help

God knows how to solve any difficult situation for his children. He cares and he will deliver them from their troubles. Jehovah will always provide a solution where there seems to be none.

God is skilled at performing wonders to show himself strong on behalf of those who dedicate their lives to serving him. He can raise a special deliverer to free his believers from oppression, and he can tap anyone for his use. Jehovah can also use other factors that someone else has considered as irrelevant to help his children.

God has no limit, he will not only defend his children from their enemies, but he will also punish their oppressors. Hence, all people are encouraged to cast their complete trust in God and serve him well, so that they can obtain his mercy and find grace in their time of need.

Dear God, please help me to trust you in any situation that I find myself so that I can obtain your mercy and find help in time of needs. As I continue to serve you, I also ask for your complete deliverance from my enemies! Silence my foes and give me an upper hand over them. Beat my enemies till their strength is exhausted! As my enemies fail in their efforts, uplift me in your mercy to enjoy your deliverance and salvation. Please give me every reason to praise your name always! GOD HATES JEALOUSY; STAY AWAY FROM IT – Genesis

jealousy

All Christians Must Do Away With Jealousy And Live A Life Void Of It

Joseph had a special dream that God had planned to make him the leader of his father’s house. He shared his dream with his family in innocence, with the hope that everyone will applaud, accept, and help him achieve his dreams. He was wrong. His brothers became jealous and hated him. They were willing to do everything possible to stop his dream from actualizing.

Joseph’s brothers conspired to kill him but later sold him to slavery. The scriptures reported Joseph’s brothers actions,

“Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming! Come, therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!” … “And they sat down to eat a meal. Then they lifted their eyes and looked, and there was a company of Ishmaelites, coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry them down to Egypt. So Judah said to his brothers, “What profit is there if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother and our flesh.” And his brothers listened. Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt” (Genesis 37:18-20; Genesis 37:25-28).

jealousy

Jealousy Can Make Us Lose God’s Blessings

A good Christian is expected to be selfless and not be jealous of other people’s achievements. As Christians, we must be satisfied with whatever we have. We must be contented and trust that God will meet our needs. Believers must be sensitive to any element of jealousy and ensure to immediately uproot its influence before it gets out of hand. Jealousy will make a person lose sight of any effort that can benefit him, and focus on other people’s dream, wealth, and/or ambition.

Meanwhile, an act of jealousy is a sin against God (Exodus 20:17). It is, therefore, important that Christians choose to live a selfless lifestyle. Any Christian who exercises godliness and refuse to entertain jealousy will be blessed by God. The person will have more reasons to maintain his godly attitude.

Satan can manipulate anyone through jealousy and we can see this in Joseph’s story. Spend some minutes daily thinking about what you have and thank God for it. God will continue to help you!

Prayer For God’s Grace To Be Humble

Dear God, please keep me humble to appreciate your grace and goodness in my life. Do not let me be jealous of others. Don’t let me entertain selfish thoughts, or engage in an action that can negatively affect other people’s progress. Let me be an agent of positive change in people’s lives so that your name can be praised! For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

HUMANS ARE REQUIRED TO OBEY GOD’S LAWS – 2 Kings

obedience

Everyone Must Be In Compliance With God’s Laws

Passage: 2 Kings 23

All people are required to obey God’s laws. Humans find this simple commandment challenging; therefore, they rationalize and look for every opportunity to evade it. Meanwhile, everyone knows that God would never ask us to do whatever is impossible. He won’t ask us to do what we are not capable of doing. God who asks us to comply with his commandment of obedience also knows we can do it. His grace is ever available for us to always meet his expectations.

God has endowed his grace on humans to have the capability of accomplishing whatever we have set out hearts to do. That is, we can meet the standard of God if we choose to do so. Some people have chosen to meet God’s expectations, and they had God’s blessings to reap for their efforts.

Let’s delve into the Bible and learn from someone who chose to disrupt the routine disobedient acts of his time. He was defiant to the sinful practices of his time and complied with God’s laws.

King Josiah in the Bible is our case study. He was a small boy and chose to do what any adult of his time wouldn’t attempt. He shunned idol worship and other disobedient activities.

Josiah was just eight years old when he became the king of Judah. He succeeded some evil kings who care less about the laws of God. Josiah stood his ground to make his people faithfully serve God and obey his commandments.

Josiah ensured the desire to faithfully serve God was a matter of national priority. In his efforts to achieve this goal, he ordered the priests to educate the citizens on God’s laws.

Josiah’s efforts paid off as he was able to successfully win the heart of his people for God. The Bible described his exploits,

“The king sent them to gather all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem to him. The king went up to the house of the Lord with all the men of Judah, and with him all the inhabitants of Jerusalem—the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the house of the Lord. The king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant” (2 Kings 23:1-3).

Obedience Means Everything to God, and He Rewards It

God rewards obedience. In fact, it could be said that a person who intends to receive the blessing of God should dare to obey his commandments. That is, people who keep the laws of God have automatically positioned themselves to receive the blessings of God.

It takes a conscious effort to obey God and faithfully serve him! To make this happen, we must study our Bible to understand what God requires.

(The Bible, which is the word of God is affordable, and can be easily possessed by everyone).

In addition, anyone who intends to fully obey God must give room for the leadership of the Holy Spirit in his life. Why? Holy Spirit empowers us to faithfully serve God. The Spirit of God gives the appropriate insight that we need to have a divine interpretation of the word of God. In short, Holy Spirit gives us everything we need to fully obey God.

It must be resonating that no one can manipulate God when the subject of obedience is discussed. A person cannot claim to obey God while he is acting otherwise. God cannot be deceived; he will appropriately reward everyone based on their sincerity.

obey godGod Searches Our Hearts and Knows Our Thoughts

God who knows all things will evaluate everyone’s activities and adequately reward us. Someone who indulges in sin should not expect to be positively rewarded. Also, the rebels – those who willingly go against the laws of God, and those who reject the salvation offer of his Son Jesus Christ will not have a portion in God’s kingdom. Unfortunately, their disobedient acts will qualify them for eternal damnation of hell fire.

People who obey God and faithfully serve him will reap the reward of their efforts in this life and in heaven. That is, God will bless his obedient children with some indescribable blessings in this life and next life.

THE PROTECTION OF GOD STANDS SURE ON HIS CHILDREN – Esther

protection

Christians Must Have Faith In God’s Promises Of Protection

(Passage: Esther 6)

Haman plotted to kill Mordecai at the same time that God was determined to promote him. The plan of God prevailed over Mordecai’s life. He was promoted, but his enemy (Haman) was killed for his evil plot (Haman was killed for the sake of Mordecai and other Jews).

The scripture reported,

“That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. Then the king said, “What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?” And the king’s servants who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.” So the king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king’s palace to suggest that the king hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.” (Unfortunately, the game changed for Haman)… Haman naively suggested, “Then let this robe and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that he may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then parade him on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him: ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!’” Then the king said to Haman, “Hurry, take the robe and the horse, as you have suggested, and do so to Mordecai the Jew who sits within the king’s gate! Leave nothing undone of all that you have spoken” (Esther 6:1-4; 6:9-10).

The Promises of God Will Never Fail On His Children

God’s protection over his children will not fail regardless of any circumstance. The enemies of God’s children will be put to shame. They will be ashamed of their evil works and be ridiculed. Meanwhile, God’s children will sail on to victory in all circumstances. They will not be ashamed during a confrontation.

Since God’s children dwell under divine grace, they will have renewed energy to bring more praises to God’s name.

Christians have nothing to lose for serving God; they will forever live as overcomers! The scripture assured us (Christians), “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

Pray For Grace To Trust God In Your Situation

Dear God, please give me the enabling grace to remain your faithful child so that I can continue to enjoy your divine grace and protections. Beat down my enemies until they are destroyed! Let your goodness be abundant in my life and let me forever enjoy your benefits. Please set your angels to keep watch over my life so that I can continue to testify to your goodness in the assembly of your people. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

GOD FORGIVE OFFENSES OF HIS PEOPLE – Zechariah

forgive

God Will Accept All Who Have Strayed Away And Forgive Them

(Passage: Zechariah 8)

The Israelites wandered away from God and suffered, but God – their Creator, promised to forgive them and draw them closer. The children of God will recover their losses and be blessed so that people can praise his name. God said to Israelites through Prophet Zechariah,

“And it shall come to pass that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and the house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, let your hands be strong.’ “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Just as I determined to punish you When your fathers provoked me to wrath, ’Says the Lord of hosts, ‘and I would not relent” (Zechariah 8:13-14).

God Will Forgive His People And Punish Their Oppressors

God cares so much for his people; he will forgive their sins and help them recover from the losses they might have suffered as a result of their sins. Children of God who have received the mercy of God will live pass their distresses and receive the help of God. Meanwhile, people who have taken advantage of a sinful situation to oppress the children of God will face the consequences of their actions. God will rescue his people and punish the wicked ones.

In most cases, the punishments that God inflicts on the wicked people are beyond human comprehension. Therefore, those who think they can take advantage of a child of God should think twice because they will suffer some terrible consequences for their actions.

It is beneficial for everyone to be on the positive side of God to avoid his punishment and also qualify for his benefits.

Children of God should consider themselves fortunate because God will forever stand by their sides. He will forgive their sins and bless them.

Are you a child of God?

Pray To Be Consistent With God

Dear God, I understand you care for your children; you promise to forgive their sins and accept them. I am your child, and I ask that you fulfill these promises over my life! Please forgive all my sins; redeem my life, and keep me fit to receive your benefits in this life and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.

GOD DEFENDS US AGAINST OUR ENEMIES – Exodus

All Christians Must Put Their Trust In God For Protection

Passage: Exodus 12

King Pharaoh and his Egyptians citizens oppressed the Hebrews with an accusation that they intended to dominate their land. However, despite the pressure of the enemies, God stood to the defense of the Hebrews. He assured them,

For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord” (Exodus 12:12).

God’s words came to pass for the Hebrews as he defended them against the Egyptians. The Bible reported,

“And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock” (Exodus 12:29).

God Reserves His Wrath For The Enemies Of His Children

People should consider it a good option to care for God’s children since they will be blessed.

True Followers Of Christ Must Depend On God For Solutions

Leah and Rachel were obsessed with their husband Jacob. They idolized him and competed to earn his favor; however, the duo was wrong since God alone should be revered and worshiped! Both women were wrong to trust in a mortal man for their fertility needs.

The scripture reported,

“Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!” (Genesis 30:1).

Jacob could not meet the expectations of his wives since he was just a mere human being.

Believers’ Faith Must Solely Rest on God

God wants His people to point their attention to him; He wants us all to serve him only. Jehovah does not want anyone to shift focus and assume a fellow human being or any other deity can replace him! We must all understand that God alone is infallible; He has no shortcoming, and He is perfect!

A person who idolizes a fellow human being will soon be disappointed because every human being has a fallible attribute. Humans are limited, while God is limitless! God can do all things, but humans can’t! God can make the rainfall in the morning and the sunshine in the afternoon. God also, makes the day and night run according to schedule! As a matter of fact, God is the supreme deity that every single person ought to serve.

It is unwise for anyone to serve a fellow human being. It is also wrong for anyone to cast his (or her) hope on a fellow human being as his great provider.

All people must come humbly before God and serve him with a tender heart. Each individual person must pray to God and hope for his assistance. Indeed Jehovah answers prayers! He knows how to grant the request of people who trust him. The omnipotent God who has all things at his disposal will definitely favor anyone who gives Him due honor as the Almighty!

God Will Reward Faithful Christians

(Passage: Nahum 1)

Faithful services. Christians are required to give due honor and faithfully serve him at all times. We must give whatever it takes to make God happy with us. The Creator reserves his measurable punishment for anyone who fails to offer him an acceptable service. It is written,

“God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; The Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies; The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel wither, and the flower of Lebanon wilts. The mountains quake before Him, The hills melt, and the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and all who dwell in it. Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him. The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. But with an overflowing flood He will make an utter end of its place, and darkness will pursue His enemies” (Nahum 1:2-8 NKV).

Faithful Service To God Will Lead To Our Blessings

God’s overflow of blessing will flourish the lives of people that faithfully serve him. Faithful believers will also enjoy God’s protection. Jehovah promised to go an extra mile to defend the interest of his children that make him proud. It is important that all people understand that God will not positively reward whoever abuses his benefits in their lives. Only those who maintain good standing with him will enjoy his benefits. God will decorate the lives of his faithful worshipers with every goodness of life, and he will also benefit them in his kingdom.

GOD WILL PUNISH ISRAELITES FOR THEIR SINS – Amos

Children of God Must Not Abuse God’s Grace With Sin

(Passage: Amos 8)

Israelites provoked God with sin, and the Creator promised to make them pay for it. Amos the servant of God prophesied,

“And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God, “That I will make the sun go down at noon, And I will darken the earth in broad daylight; I will turn your feasts into mourning, And all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth on every waist, And baldness on every head; I will make it like mourning for an only son, and its end like a bitter day” (Amos 8:9-10).

purity

Impact of Sin vs Holiness

God can cope with anything other than sin – because sin is not a part of his system. Among all human activities on earth, nothing is strong enough to stop God’s operation – except sin! Sin can limit God’s blessing in anyone’s life. It can turn an active blessing to a passive blessing. That is, a person who sinned may be unable to tap into his blessing until he has exercised repentance.

All believers must understand that God does not have a substitute for holiness. He asks that his sinful children repent from their sins so that he can bless them. An unrepentant sinner will suffer dire consequences from his Maker.
