GOD FIGHTS BATTLE FOR HIS CHILDREN – 1 Samuel

battle

Your Battle Belongs to God; He Will Defend You

(Passage: 1 Samuel 24)

“Battles belong to the Lord;” God fights for his children. You may not understand the approach that he will use but be rest assured that he will come to your aid in time of need.

The scriptures admonished the believers to maintain a strong faith in God, under whatever situation.

Oh Christian, be strong for your Lord is powerful!

This life can sometimes throw a curveball, which may weigh heavily as if there will never be a solution, but the opposite is the truth. As far as God is concerned, there is no situation that is unsolvable!

While the solution may not be instant sometimes, our steadfast faith in God will keep us afloat. Our faith is enough armor to send a message to the enemy that our God is stronger than whatever evil they might insinuate.

David in the bible, who was a victim of a situation, understood what it takes to trust God without the provision of any physical proof. David showed his enemies that he trusted God beyond any physical weapon of war.

This lesson can be learned from the scenario when King Saul (David’s adversary) made a wrong turn and fell into the hands of David. Anyone would have seized the opportunity to kill his enemy, but David did not do that. He spared Saul’s life.

As King David showed mercy and spared the life of his enemy, he sent him a clear message that his prime hope is in God. He was not willing to cut corners and sin against God. He wanted God to defend him. David said,

“The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord” (1 Samuel 24:6).

You’re Not Alone; God Will Fight Your Battles

As a child of God, you have the assurance that you are not alone in any battle of life. God who has fought for his children in the past is still alive today. You serve the same God, and he will fight your battle.

Come to think of it, does it really makes sense to engage in the same battle that God has already picked up? The answer is “no.”

Children of God should hands-off of any situation that God has already engaged. That doesn’t mean you won’t do your due diligence, but you shouldn’t agitate anymore. Why worrying when God is involved?

Let God fight your battle so that you can have a sound victory and also have lasting peace.

If you have prayed to God over an issue, take a back seat and let God be the driver. He will perform his wonders. Lo and behold, if God is offensive towards your oppositions, the enemies are in trouble!

God won’t fight a battle halfway. If he picks a battle, he will finish it.

Something very important to know is that once God finishes a battle, it will never rise again. So isn’t it better to let God engage your battles than getting your hands dirty with an imperfect outcome? Indeed, if God is in charge of your situation, you won’t have any reason to regret it afterward.

Pray For God’s Help In Battle

Oh, dear good Lord, I understand that you are a perfect God who defends the interest of his children. I am inviting you to fight every battle of my life. Please fight for me so that I can have a lasting victory. Please do not allow my enemies to triumph over me! Confuse and incapacitate them as you did to King Saul in the Bile. Please give me an upper hand in any battle to raise the flag of victory. Be my righteous army, and earn me a lasting testimony. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen!

BE WISE AND PROPERLY USE YOUR TONGUE – James

tongue

Tongue Is Powerful – Use It Cautiously

(Passage: James 3)

The human tongue is powerful. It can be referred to as a make-or-break tool that we carry with us at all times. The tongue is used to compose words, and words are powerful!

“The power of life and death lies in the tongue.” Oh boy, the tongue is powerful!  It can make a huge impact on others.

Watch it: What you say and how you say it can affect someone (whether positively or negatively)!

Children of God are challenged to watch the use of their tongues. We must be cautious to bless and encourage others with this important tool that we have. We must use it to build lives (not to destroy lives).

Use your tongue to help people and use it to glorify God.

The Bible describes the use of a human tongue,

“For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so” (James 3:7-10 NKJV).

Tongue Can Make Or Break Lives

Do not allow your tongue to control you, rather, control your tongue!

To buttress the points earlier mentioned:

  1. Christians must be careful with the use of their tongues since words carry weight to either make or break a life.
  2. Words can discourage and demoralize people.
  3. Use your tongue to encourage others and use it to honor God.
  4. Make a positive impact; be sensitive to use your tongue to teach people about God.

It is important that Christians use our tongues to encourage people to preserve their faith in Jesus Christ so that God can save them and qualify them for heaven as we are.

Jehovah will surely bless people who make him proud with the use of their tongues! He will honor them in this life and in heaven also.

Prayer To Maintain Decency With Tongues Usage

Dear God, please give me the grace to adequately utilize my tongue to bless people so that your name can be glorified. Help me to not abuse your grace of free speech that I have…

…Do not let me tear other people down with my tongue, but let my words be full of grace to bless them! Please let your blessing pursue me as I desire to satisfy you every day of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

Remember: Be Wise And Properly Use Your Tongue

ADAM LOST SALVATION; JESUS REGAINED IT – Genesis

salvation

Adam, Being Human, Lost Salvation; Jesus, Being Divine, Regained Salvation

(Passage: Genesis 1,2,3)

“Mistakes have no master,” as people say, but not all mistakes shared similar consequences. Some mistakes create costly impact; therefore, a child of God should not take pride in the rationale that it’s human to make a mistake.

Learning from the Bible, Adam- The first man on earth, made a costly mistake that led the whole world into trouble. Human race has forever remembered Adam’s mistake and the disaster it brought.

God was dissatisfied with Adam (and his wife Eve) and punished them for their disobedience. However, the punishment did not end with them, the rest of humanity inherited their punishment and suffer also.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God. They ate the forbidden fruit and committed the first sin; the sin also became an exponential transferable trait that brought humanity to live perpetually under God’s punishment.

Three Important Lessons To Learn Before You Proceed:

  1. Be human, but don’t lose your mind, some mistakes are costlier than others.
  2. Don’t hide under the pretense of being human to rejoice in your weaknesses.
  3. As a child of God, work hard to avoid making a costly mistake!

Freedom: What happened, and how did Adam lose it?

In the beginning, God who created the planet earth also beautified it with living and non-living things. God considered the earth as “imperfect” until it has a master to rule and enjoy it. God created Adam and Eve (the first man and the first woman).

God created and blessed Adam and Eve to care for the earth and enjoy all it contains. God said to the couple: “Be fruitful and multiply.”

The first family should enjoy God’s beautiful Garden of Eden and prosper with it, but with only one condition to meet – They must not eat fruit from the forbidden tree!

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:15-17)

Unfortunately, what appeared as a simple instruction became a difficult task for Adam and his wife. They fell for Satan’s ploy and ate the forbidden fruit. Their mistake became a disaster for everyone that would live after them.

In consequence, for Adam’s sin, God cursed the earth. They would no more have absolute freedom. This means they would need redemption, a savior to reconcile them back to God!

Jesus Regained the Salvation that Adam Lost

Several years after Adam and Eve lost the Eden Garden, God sent Jesus Christ to come for their rescue. Jesus must save the human race (descendants of Adam), or else they would forever live under the punishment of sin!

As simple as it may sound, God requires everyone to confess Jesus Christ as Lord to be saved. This means, salvation only comes through confession of faith in Jesus.

People who confess their faith in Jesus Christ will enjoy a new Garden of Eden in the new earth that God will create. Here is how the Bible presents it:

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4)

Adam Lost Salvation, but Jesus Regained It (With These Additional Benefits):

  1. Believers of Jesus are empowered to rule their world.
  2. Believers of Jesus have the right to command and possess their desired benefits.
  3. Believers of Jesus will repossess the lost Garden of Eden and enjoy it forever!

Application Prayer on Overcoming Adam’s Limitation

Dear God, I understand that Adam and Eve lost their privilege because of a costly mistake, please help me not to fall into the same pit. Help my understanding to make the right decisions at all times. Give me the strength to always make a decision that honors you!

Let the Holy Spirit empower me to follow your instructions to the letter so that I can prosper. I believe in Jesus Christ, and I confess him as my personal Lord and Savior. Please write my name in the book of Life and keep me forever fit for your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed, Amen!

ENEMY WILL PRY ON YOUR SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY – Luke

sensitive

Christians Must Be Sensitive To Discern The Evil Ones Always

(Passage: Luke 20)

Children of God must be prayerful and watchful. We must not allow the enemy to use any subtle approach to take our advantage. Jesus Christ, the Son of God did not yield his ground to the enemies of his time, neither must we yield to the enemies of our time also.

The Pharisees and Sadducees paraded Jesus Christ and sought every opportunity to trap him in word and action; Christ stood his ground. He largely ignored their harassment while he remained sensitive. He was not blindsided to their plots, and he had a ready-made answer whenever they crossed their line.

Jesus was sensitive; he recognized the presence of his enemies, and he put them in the right place! For example, when the Pharisees asked a tricky question about the resurrection, Jesus referred them to the scripture that they claim to honor. The enemies were dumbfounded at his approach (Luke 20:27-39).

Being aware of the enemies’ intention, Christ warned his disciples to also be watchful of the hypocrites who would be envious of their success and seek their downfall. Jesus said,

“Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation” (Luke 20:46-47).

Christians Must Be Vigilant And Sensitive

We Christians are God’s children, and we are lights surrounded by those who celebrate the works of darkness; therefore, we must be careful!

Our practices and godly lifestyles often irritate worldly people; they will react and attempt anything to satisfy their evil desires.

Besides the external enemies, believers must also be watchful of the subtle enemies such as carelessness and convenient sin. In addition to that, Christians must be careful of pride and self-praise. Most importantly, we must remain heavenly worthy.

Pray For Spiritual Sensitivity

Dear God, please help me to be wise and be sensitive so that I won’t fall for the desire of the wicked ones. Please help me to stay strong in faith and do not allow sin to rule over me. Inspire and empower me by the Holy Ghost so that I can remain heavenly worthy. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.

TRUE LOVE IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF CHRISTIANITY – 1 Peter

true love

Christians Must Promote True Love Throughout The World

(Passage: 1 Peter 5)

Every Christian is expected to promote the true love that honors God. Believers must care for each other dearly as Christ has cared and died for the Church.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolize the true love of Christ (unconditional love). Before he ascended to heaven, Christ charged his disciples with the prime commandment: “Have true love one another.”

The “Love commandment” of Christ has no exemption. As he loved the church to the extent of dying for it, so we must love God and have true love for others. Doing so will attract unbelievers and motivate them to become followers of Jesus Christ as well.

Jesus’ call for true love was reiterated by Peter as written in the scripture,

“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time” (1 Peter 5:5-6).

Put Effort Into Loving Others; Expects Rewards.

Children of God are called to truly love and promote unity in the fold of Christ.

To meet this mandate, believers must be honest with one another.

God expects us to be our brothers’ keepers. We must seek the welfare of other brethren. No Christian should be self-centered and neglect others. We must be mindful of other people’s needs.

Only true love reigns! Imagine, how can someone refers to himself as a good Christian when he (or she) hates his fellow Christians? Also, should any Christian seeks the downfall of others and expects God to applaud him? Will God be satisfied when any acclaimed Christian abuses his brothers and sisters in Christ? God forbid!

Let’s Examine Christ’s Principle on the Call for True Love

Jesus Christ was firm and was consistent with his teaching that asks believers to share true love and support each other. In his teaching, Christ emphasized he would reject hypocritical Christians on the last day.

Jesus who calls believers into a true love of God (and to truly love others) stated he will not open the gate of his kingdom to people who fail to practice true love. Only the people with unbiased love will have a place in God’s kingdom. (Matthew 25:41-46).

The Call to Action

  • Anyone who claims to be a true child of God must be honest in his practices. He must meet the holiness standard of God at all costs!
  • A Christian who is in love with God must share the good news of his faith with others so that they can also have the opportunity to be saved.

A true Christian is expected to understand that Christ came to save the world; therefore, the mandate to share the gospel with others must weigh heavily on his mind.

(Preach Christ to others so that they can have the opportunity to escape punishment from hellfire.)

Pray For Divine Help To Promote Godly Love

Dear Lord, please help me to demonstrate the true love that you require. Help me to have a true love for my fellow Christians. I also pray for the body of Christ to love each other. Help the brethren to practice the true love that you required. Help us to stop segregation, and help us to stop self-righteousness! Give brethren the strength and grace needed to love each other and spread your gospel so that unbelievers can also become saved. In the end, please count us worthy to inherit your kingdom! For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen!

ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN-GOD RELATIONSHIP – Revelation

relationship

Building A Stronger Relationship With God

(Passage: Revelation 3)

Every child of God is expected to maintain a distinct relationship with his (or her) Maker.

No sitting on the fence. No one-leg-in and one-leg-out. We are called to devote ourselves to God and give Him our best services at all times.

If we expect God to reward our good services, then we should expect he will do the opposite if we don’t commit to his service fully. Children of God should prioritize the things of God and serve him faithfully.

God said through his word,

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth…

…Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see…

…As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent” (Revelation 3:15-19).

Blessed Are Those Who Keep Good Relationship With God

God will reward your efforts if you care to be closer to him. With this truth in mind, every child of God ought to examine himself if indeed meeting God’s expectations.

Caution has to be taken, not to mistake religious exercise as true worship. At least, any Christian should understand that his (or her) church title does not equate to true worship.

God will not save us based on personal claims and religious titles. He will examine our hearts and review our thoughts and actions prior to awarding his reward (whether positively or negatively).

The Basis of Faith

There is a tendency that people can confuse what matters of faith are. There is a likelihood that someone can imagine he is fit to receive God’s good reward by simply being “good to others.” – Faith matter is much more than that.

Anyone who is worthy of being called a child of God must obtain the salvation of Jesus Christ. He (or she) has to confess Jesus as Lord and declare him as the Son of God. He must accept him as his personal Savior.

Besides the confession of faith in Jesus, a person who’s worthy of being called a child of God must personally read his bible and practice his faith. In addition, he must also complement his faith with pious services to God.

God cannot be fooled. Lip services won’t be enough to convince him.

What are the things expected of a child of God?

  1. Engage in personal bible study
  2. Worship God
  3. Join a local church to worship and render services to God
  4. Spread the word of God to other people
  5. Aspire daily to grow in faith and serve God better

Are you a good Christian?

  1. A good Christian read and understand God’s law and carefully follows them
  2. A good Christian calls God his Father; he calls Jesus his Savior
  3. A good Christian supports good courses and promotes the welfare of others
  4. A good Christian daily seeks God’s face and asks for God’s indwelling Holy Spirit to satisfy God and overcome temptations
  5. A good Christian expects the return of Jesus Christ to rapture the saints to heaven

Pray For Forgiveness

Dear God, you surely desire good things from the people that you have called your own! You want Christians to serve you in Spirit and in truth; therefore, I am asking for the grace to meet your expectations. I make my declaration of faith by confessing Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I am also asking for the grace and power to live up to your standard of holiness. Let my relationship with you be genuine. Let me consistently study your word and put them to practice. Please keep me fit for your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed! Amen.

VICTORY AT LAST – JESUS DID IT FOR US! – 1 Peter

victory

Beat Your Chest – Your Victory Is Sure In Jesus

(Passage: 1 Peter 4)

The resurrection victory – What a great privilege we have obtained through the death of Jesus Christ! Jesus paid the ultimate prize on the cross to hand over all the benefits to us at a zero cost.

No one should have an excuse for not taking the full benefits of Jesus’s death and resurrection, but unfortunately, many people are still not tapping into the benefits.

The believers (Those who have believed in Jesus) should not hesitate to utilize the resurrection benefits to their full advantage.

How did we get there? What has Jesus done to bring believers to this junction?

Jesus Christ, innocent but persecuted for his goodwill, persevered all the abuses of the enemies. He suffered for our sins to the point of death.

Christ suffered and used the suffering as a medium to exchange our sins and imperfection for his righteousness. He did all those on the cross through his pain and suffering. Christ did it all for us; as many as will believe in him shall be saved.

Hurray victory at last!

People of faith have the advantage to live freely and happily in this complicated world. What it takes to explore the advantage is a confession of faith in Jesus. That is, anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord will be aided and empowered by the Lord to live a life of an overcomer!

Countless benefits are involved, and besides the priceless salvation to obtained, a person who confesses Jesus as Lord will also have the power to live above the controls of the enemy. Sin and all works of Satan are subject to the power embedded in the confession of faith in Jesus!

Here is our confidence, as stated in the scripture,

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries” (1 Peter 4:1-3).

Holy Spirit Constantly Battle Satan For Believers’ Sake

Jesus Christ has engaged in a war against Satan and won victory for his followers; therefore, no child of God should live a defeated life. Satan has lost his battles against us, and now, we must live in victory.

Believers must celebrate victory in God through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Here are undeniable benefits obtained through Jesus:

  1. Believers have the Holy Spirit of God available to help for all exploits.
  2. We can live a pleasant and pleasurable life in the presence of God.
  3. We can live in holiness and be in tune with heaven always.
  4. The Holy Spirit of God can empower us to love people during difficult times.

Holy Spirit energizes us to live victoriously every day of our lives. He (Holy Spirit) also empowers us to bear good fruits for the kingdom of God. Holy Spirit gives us the needed courage to be effective evangelists!

What a victory obtained in Jesus Christ! Indeed, Christians are the most fortunate people on earth. They have a bounty of goodness available at our disposal. They also have plentiful riches waiting for them in heaven.

In stating the obvious, anyone who aspires to live a triumphant life on earth and enjoy heavenly benefits must submit to Jesus Christ and confess him as Lord.

The Prayer of Victory

Hallelujah victory is mine through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! I am a child of God, and I am a victor! The victory of Jesus Christ is my portion, and I will rejoice in the salvation of the Lord Jesus- forever!

Dear God, please baptize me with your Holy Spirit so that I keep be empowered to keep serving you well. Help me to live above sin, and give me the grace to share my faith with others. I believe you will do more than I have requested, for in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed, Amen!

FACE PERSECUTION? GOD’S REWARD AWAITS – Revelation

persecution

Endure Persecution For Its Benefit

(Passage: Revelation 11)

Persecuted but not forsaken –  Your reward is in heaven if you remain steadfast in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ! Children of God are encouraged to reflect on the Bible’s Book of Revelation that mentioned several times that saints will be persecuted during the end time for the sake of their faith in Jesus Christ.

If you are a child of God, your faith will be tested. You must determine not to allow anything to shift your faith in the sight of any opposition.

Unbelievers and those who have released themselves for devil’s use will persecute Christians. Some will be ignorant of their actions, but they will work to satisfy the desire of the enemy.

When talks on “Persecution”: Some believers would lose their lives, but their efforts will not go unnoticed in the presence of the Lord. They will be rewarded!

During the end time, the enemy will appear to be gaining an upper hand, but that won’t last. God, the most powerful one, will seize Satan’s power and stop his evil works.

Those who endure persecution to keep their faith will be rewarded in the end. Christ will rescue his saints – dead and alive.

People who have died for their faith in Jesus Christ will resurrect on the last day to enjoy an everlasting life with God in heaven.

Endure persecution, and be resolute in your faith.

God cares, and he will continue to care for those who remain firm during persecution.

John mentioned how God stopped Satan’s work in the Book of Revelation:

“Then I was given a measuring stick, and I was told, “Go and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers. But do not measure the outer courtyard, for it has been turned over to the nations. They will trample the holy city for 42 months” (Revelation 11:1-2).

Persecution Is Not The Lord, But Jesus Is Lord

There are no other means of resisting the temptation than to be closer to God in reading his words and consistently pray. The word of God keeps the love of God afresh in our hearts. Also, we become stronger as we meditate in the word of God on daily basis.

A similar benefit of gaining strength in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ is to maintain a consistent attitude of prayers. The word of God states, “The prayer of the righteous ones avails much.”

Prayer strengthens our “inner-man”. It also invites the power and presence of God to dominate our lives.

Above all, remember that your faith in Jesus Christ worths more than gold!

Be Steadfast!

If you suffer for the sake of your love and services to God, be expecting that God will reward you back in multiple folds – Both in this life and in heaven also.

Christ, the Savior, will wipe tears from the faces of his children who endure persecution. He will decorate their lives with beauty and honor.

Perhaps, nothing is more important than the fact that God will reward his steadfast children with an imperishable crown of glory in his kingdom!

Steadfast Christians will be honored as God’s princes and princesses in heaven. What a choice prize of steadfastness!

Pray For Strength To Be Steadfast Through Adversity

Dear God, please grant me the grace and power to faithfully serve you throughout the days of my life. Help me to remain steadfast and be committed to you unto the end. Help me to remain confident with the testimony of Jesus Christ. Help me to proclaim the faith in Jesus to glorify your name. Please empower me with your Holy Spirit to remain fit for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Please keep rapturable! For in the name of my Lord, Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.

God Does Not Reward False Charity

reward

Believer: You Have A Reward Is In Heaven

It is good to be good! Any active service that will render that glorifies God is recorded and celebrated in heaven. Christians must focus their efforts on activities that glorify God. Our efforts must not focus on receiving human’s praises and, and it must not be for any other selfish reason. God sees our efforts and he rewards us accordingly. He reciprocates our efforts with rewards so that we can be motivated to do more. Jesus Christ said;

“Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. (Matthew 6:2-4).

God Rewards Only True Services

God respects true worshippers, but he dishonors people pleasers! The Creator expects his children to give him honest services without self-seeking glorification and/or human praises. In addition, God’s children must not engage in false humility to gain the approval of others. We are expected to be pure before God and give him our best services as empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Creator will reciprocate our efforts with blessing so that we can be motivated to serve him more.

God blesses people who promote his kingdom and offer charity genuinely. However, the same cannot be said about pretenders. Those who do it for human praises and gratification are doomed. God doesn’t acknowledge and appreciate such behaviors. If you fit this description, change now, while you still can.

Pray to Focus on God’s Great Reward

Dear God, please help me to offer you my activities with holiness. Help me to offer selfless services to you. Do not let me serve to receive human praises, but let my activities be selfless to glory your Holy Name. Let my services be worthy of your blessing in this life and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

ALWAYS CALL ON GOD FOR DECISION MAKING – 1 Samuel

Call God To Help You Make A Good Decision

It is very hard to make a sound judgment under pressure, but with God, all things are possible. God can guide us to make an appropriate decision under pressure if we call on him for help.

Despite the temptation a person may face making an irrational decision under pressure, he is still obliged to make a sound judgment that honors God.

God answers us when we call on him for help!

Someone in the Bible lost control of making a sound judgment when he was under pressure; he paid a dire consequence for it.

Let’s learn from King Saul in the Bible:

After he had committed several offenses to God, King Saul found himself between a rock and a hard place as he faced a much bigger problem. He was confronted with an army that was stronger than his troop.

Facing countless enemy soldiers with their sophisticated equipment, King Saul had no place to turn. In addition to his mystery, Saul’s spiritual adviser, Prophet Samuel, was nowhere to be found. He had delayed his coming to offer a customary sacrifice that must precede any war.

Enemies were advancing; Samuel was not forthcoming. Saul’s soldiers began to flee.

Since the pressure was mounting as a result of the enemies’ advances and Samuel missing in action for seven days already, King Saul was forced to make a decision. But, unfortunately, the choice did not favor him.

King Saul decided to perform Samuel’s duty. He offered a priest’s sacrifice.

Guess what, Samuel showed up immediately Saul had finished the sacrifice!

Despite any rational reasoning to validate Saul’s needful action at a crucial time, God was still displeased. Samuel said (on God’s behalf) to Saul:

“You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you” (1 Samuel 13:13-14).

God Is Always Ready To Answer Our Call

God is not far from us. He will be there to help us in times of need. But, children of God must be disciplined to wait on God at all times. Believers must not have any substitute for God. Our hearts must solely rely on God always!

A temptation is bound to come, but no temptation can take us beyond the limit of God’s grace. In other words, the grace of God is always sufficient for us!

God’s grace covers all things. It takes God’s grace and God’s favor to successfully overcome any temptation, especially when the pressure is mounting.

God will surely help his children that call on him for help. He will help us to make an appropriate decision when will need it.

Take-home lesson:

Learn how to call on God in every situation.

  • Consider that nothing is insignificant to pray about.
  • Don’t second-guess God,  believe he will answer your prayer.

Pray For Grace To Always Call On God

Dear God, please give me the grace to call upon you whenever I am confronted with a difficult situation. Guide me to make good and godly decisions when I am confused. Help me to follow your instructions, so that I can have an expected result. Let it be well with me always, and let Satan be ashamed over my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.
